Yes. The My_Ref with LM318 (15MHz) had been compared favourably to a discrete amp (Goldmund Mimesis clone). I haven't checked your Toshiba discrete amp. Hopefully there's schematic on the link.

Unfortunatelly, I found only the SB-M3-4 version (I have the M2)...

I've experimented futhermore with the compensating capacitors. If I reduce the 33pF in the global feedback path, the sound will be much-much clearer. Slowly but definitely will exceed the "Toshiba" quality...🙂

I think it should exceed it when properly optimized 🙂
