Good news, thanks Bro for this help to our beloved friends.Re:>FullRangeMan:::I have a rescue cat.He gives me a very warm GLOW.

Biggest glow I ever saw was about 50 years ago at a tv station,The valve was huge I was not allowed to look at it for long due to the Xray hazard.

No blue halo (they are power tubes, just teensy ones)
No purple haze
Just warm orangey goodness
Are you sure they aren't red plating? 😀

Electroharmonix. I've seen GE branded ones do it. I can't remember if the modern production Tung-Sol that are in it do it or not.

Mine were Phillip's JAN 7581a.
I'll never understand why they put LED's (even blue ones 😱) under a tube's base 🙄…
Best regards!

As generally an SS guy, I have to say the soft glow IS mesmerizing. I think I will be utilizing valves in the future, and using them in conjunction with SS might be rather interesting and fun.
.
Another look at one of the antique 201A used as the VAS in my hybrid stereo as I crank out some Lincoln Park.😛 The inside construction visible from the glow through the getter....... 😎
I've gone all tube and all SS in the past with varying results. After quite a bit of experimenting the best combination for me seems to be tube pre-amp and SS power amp. Even flea power SS amps like the Amp Camp produce very satisfactory results with a tube pre-amp in front of it.

Me neither. I did it once at the request of my other half and it was ok (Blue diffused behind a nixie), but after running for 2 months the blue LED hardly makes any light anymore (cheap phosphor I guess).
