There nothing personal about any of this, Scott please stop making it so. I asked Bob a favor, he reported his findings to the forum independent of me knowing the outcome, I didn't mention or consider posting them to the forum. The comparison here is between a source file and a loopback recording of that source file, anything to do with bit perfect files is nothing to do with this subjective testing so please forget any of that for now. Perhaps if you were to take another listen with a different mindset you might hear the differences....the file differences are easily visible in Reaper. The are plenty of audio enthusiasts here with systems of varying abilities, It would be interesting to hear if listeners other than Bob can hear the file differences of this pretty elementary test. Anybody else willing to take a listen and put to paper what they find ?.You're the one making things up now. Why don't you get more "votes" the bit perfect file test got none.
I meant your comeback is funny. Which is Russian, the Large BQP ingredients or the foil/black sand ?.It's not funny Dan, it's true!
It's impossible to know the truth, except that this is a "test" of the listener, so, same crap he tried on me with the Benny Goodman 🙂You're the one making things up now. Why don't you get more "votes" the bit perfect file test got none.
Best to just ignore the Bybee and goop. Bybees are paperweights designed by a charlatan and championed by those with a level of BS detection similar to those who give their social security numbers to robocallers and wire money to Nigerian princes.
The goop? Who knows, but we’ve been hearing about evidence coming for years and all we get are the most basic of tests that are totally butchered and worthless. More likely to be the product of self delusion than anything real.

The Test Dept files and the Benny Goodman files are originals (converted to 24bit) and their associated loopback recordings using Goop interconnect/loopback cable, how many times do I need to state this ?.It's impossible to know the truth, except that this is a "test" of the listener, so, same crap he tried on me with the Benny Goodman 🙂
The question is can anybody hear the differences and describe them ?. If individuals cannot hear an old school/obsolete/budget soundcard then there is no point in these individuals attempting to discern cables which is the ongoing goal, and automatically their subjective assessments past and present are deemed to be questionable.
ScottJ, be brave, take a listen to the files mentioned above, you ought to hear differences and if so you might discover something new to you, if you do not you will be discovering things about your system or yourself or both, it's all win/win.
Dan.

Yes..... apparently 😉The question is can anybody hear the differences and describe them ?.

The music is similar to techno music? In such case we usually don't care about accuracy. But how about music where accuracy is important??
In general, Two Flames is much more refined but Test Dept is more realistic. Especially with the gong instrument, Test Dept sounds like gong I'm familiar with gamelan music, while with Two Flames the gong sounds much bigger, like gong used in buddhist temples.
Don’t hate the 5% 😛
I love the 1%. I need the 90 %. Everything in between are cuspidors.
This is a logical mess - stop it already.

Yes he is. The primary element in Jack's original device came from Russia, not Mars.
When he was working on USA sonar? The distortion of reality gets better...
Nice to see my favourite scam product still so popular...
Men in dark suits came knocking this morning at 2 am. I can say no more at this stage, but look out for press announcements in the next few weeks, and a possible statement at the upcoming G7. I’m just pleased this whole thing is now out in the open.Understood, I hope you haven't said too much already.....
This is a logical mess - stop it already.

And look who gets personal. I'm afraid we need to stop feeding this.
The personal stuff should stop, particularly the attacks.
As far having an original recording and the same recording passed though data converters, IME, some will hear a difference and some won't. No surprise there. Depending on particulars some who do hear a difference may prefer one or the other version. Again, no surprise. Happens with or without goop present.
Similarly, if two bit-identical files, one of which has passed by some goop applied to digital wiring, nobody will hear a difference (except for people in physical proximity to Dan, who get intentional or unintentional clues from Dan about what he expects the results should be).
There is nothing new about any of this, is there?

Which only came to light when Scott looked at the files. 🙄 Enough said, I would hope.As far having an original recording and the same recording passed though data converters
It takes 28:02 to listen to the two tracks being discussed, I'm betting this fiction effort took you much longer.
A much more entertaining use of time though... Nice one Bonsai... I hope the android they replaced you with will be as effective as the now vanished Real Bonsai....

Yes - I see this now. Sorry - will not happen again.

C’mon vac, don’t be like that........bitterness is a ugly color on you.
Hey, my vision isn’t very good at all without correction......I live with it.
Think.....handicapable! 😛
I was asked for a subjective opinion and that’s what I gave.....I believe I labeled it ‘subjective’ in my first post about it. You fellers can work out the details. 😛
Edit....not ignoring y’all but going to bed, be back tomorrow 🙂
It is better to use the term "sighted listening" as indication instead of "subjective" as even in a controlled (doubleblind) listening test it is still a subjective evaluation; the conditions of the controlled test only allow to more objectively consider if the subjective impressions are consistent.
(Besides, it should have been clear what you wanted to express, though)
