the 3561 is useful -- but dynamic range is only 80dB -- it's a great instrument for vibration analysis.

Be careful to not bid much. There is no way of knowing whether they work, and
problems are common. You can buy a guaranteed working DSA for $500 on ebay.
I have got away with a £50 second hand scope and £25 signal generator for 15 years.

If you're doing audio work the 3561a could be fun. Doesn't work over 100KHz though. Even has its own source. The signal generator is as big as a house and would take up a lot of room. In the end you may regret that one when you're looking for space for other toys.
Watch what you spend if you're not sure of the condition. I love old HP gear but it is old gear. You never know. It could go from tool to project real quick.
