Amp Camp Amp Output Capacitor

The output capacitor is absolutely necessary. Otherwise 12V DC would appear on your speakers.
I use a 4700 uF, 35V Nichicon KG series, type II. So far I haven't bothered to bypass it with a film cap, but I've been very satisfied with the sound. It does take about 20 hours to break in.

Iron or capacitors

Hello,
Right now i am busy modding my dddac.
First there was 500 Va r core and a not so big choke.
Now there is a 160 va transformer and a BIG choke .
The designer of the dddac did simulate my new power supply and told me reduction opf 100 hertz ripple is around 200 DB even though the current being drawn is 1A. The caps are moderate seize.
The big red box is the encapsuled 500 Va next to it the old input choke.
Other picture shows the new transformer and choke. The old choke outside the chassis.
Greetings, Ed

Iron is a good thing for PSUs and for HV power tubes (and maybe for interstage between tubes). But to block DC and transfer power from LV transistor I would think that a good capacitor has less distortion that a transformer.

Have you build one of those "multi-layer" NOS DACs?
I have not yet understood why so many are needed. Sometimes you see big towers (16 or more parallel DACs). In the DAC forum this seems common knowledge and not easy just to enter the forum. It seems to be something like when a DAC "fires" then the average value between many parallel is more "correct" than just a single...….? ….ok.....bit off topic…...ACA far from DAC.....apart from having two letters common.
