Does anyone have any info on how to adjust the suspension on a Manticore Mantra? There are three coil springs between the fixed plinth and the moveable part. They each have a screw running up through the centre that can be adjusted. Is there a procedure I should follow to set them up? I think that adjustment will make them more or less firm and raise or lower the platter so trying to find a happy medium between the two functions seems tricky. So far all I have done is to try to get the platter level with the plinth but I fear there is more to it than that.
Any opinions?

I adjust my Thorens TD-125 and TD-321, and TD-320 MK3, which use three coil springs to suspend the platter assembly from the plinth, so that the plattter deck is 90' to the vertical center line of the tonearm pivot. Dampening is by using foam inserts on the inside of the coil springs, foam density changes dampening.
I adjust coil spring preload to allow the platter assembly to "float", this prevents the platter from resting on either the upper or lower stops.
Make all your adjustment with a 200 g LP and record weight since this will be the maximum weight the platter will have on it in normal use.

Don't forget to bounce the platter assembly slightly by pressing on the spindle to relieve the coil spring wind up after each height or preload adjustment.

The platter should be just high enough so it won't hit the top plate when bouncing,
you don't want the springs too tight. Sometimes you can rotate the springs for centering.
Many thanks for all your replies. So I will proceed as follows. Level the plinth then level the suspended part using the minimum of tension to retain easy movement. In my case the suspension has little work to do because the tt is on a heavy old oak table on a solid concrete floor.
You can download set up guides for the Mantra from Vinyl Engine for free (registration needed) Manticore Mantra - Manual - Two Speed Turntable - Vinyl Engine

I have been registered with Vinyl Engine for a few years now but cannot access those items from the Library there. I have cookies and javascript enabled for the site but just get an error message.
Thanks anyway for your suggestion.

Update:
Its over two years later and I have still not managed to get a copy of the "comprehensive setup guide" from that site. I've tried everything I can think of on three different browsers without any luck. Does any out there have a copy they can email me?
Thanks in advance.

Old Bones --- I had the same trouble with hi-fi engine as well as vinyl engine until I disabled all my blockers only then was I able to gain entry.
As a aside ,my Dais turntable also uses the 3 spring system but one spring has a large Allen bolt in its centre which is used to "tune " the deck.

I'd imagine setup follows the same approach as the venerable LP12. A quick search found the LP12 setup manual pdf available from several websites.
Cheers,
