Give salary to local engineers and workers in the US cost serious money. Western Electric does spend a fortune to bring back high quality vacuum tube production in North America. 40 000 hours of life span and every 300B is individually tested and curve traced no need to hope about reliability. it's verified by professionals. I don't think the price is outrageous if they have the quality to back it up.
I remember back 15-20 yrs ago it was around that price already. (maybe slightly cheaper but we need to account for inflation also).

Has there been one tube sold yet? This is not the first time they have made a great effort with no actual tubes produced. The price is on par with Takatsuki, but I truly hope the effort produces results this time.
I suspect that most of the people buying these will put them in a cabinet to drool over them, not "spoil" them by plugging them into an amplifier. 😀
