If you have the female hardware but incomplete female modules, you only have the basic female module meaning you are fertile, you’ll have to mimicry to compensate for their absence.
If however you have a few female modules but either male hardware or hardware caught in transition, meaning transition wasn’t complete, then you may end up in a tough situation. Some compensate using surgery and mimicry.
Being a lady boy, could also be purely environmental where the male goes into female mimicry to force stalling females that are in hardware only mode to move from being purely hardware based but to activate and use those female modules in their possession, the extra modules require extra processing power
