Hi all. I have 2 4.5 cu ft cabs and bought 2 Dayton Audio RSS390HF-4 15" Reference HF Subwoofer 4 Ohm drivers. On the PE page it says I'd get 37hz in a 2.8 cu ft sealed box. What will happen if I put them in my 4.5 cu ft box?
I'm driving both of them with a Behringer iNuke 3000 DSP so I can tweak them if need be. I like the sound of sealed cabs too.
Sure, seqled, if the extension is adequate is my favorite. I use vented, for home theater.
Since you are using dsp, you won't need any dampening material in the enclosure.

This are old Altec cabs in really good condition and have batting stapled to the interior walls and I'll leave it there for now.
Thats fine, but I would pull it out. You will get more linear performance (acoustically tighter, faster).
The batting that AL used should not make a difference. Is it 1" fiberglass?
Yes, it is there one inch dense factory stuff.
Hooah, I'd love to roll that one.
