I had the TV on one night while on the PC.
Out of the corner of my eye I spotted a very attractive woman on the TV.
I stopped and watched to see what the program was about and it turned out to be about transgender people.
While dating a woman from Manchester a friend of hers took us down Canal street which the LGBT location there.
We went into a transvestite bar. Dancing around were some pretty ugly blokes dressed as women.
I then noticed at the bar a very attractive blonde.
My mate started laughing and i asked why he was laughing and he said its a lady boy. Had I been on my own I could have got seriously caught out !

Quite often a female profile will have a nice looking picture first then the next few have a not so good looking woman.
The first picture of course was taken years ago.
An older woman doesn't need to find a mate as she is probably too old to have children anyway.
Nigel - if by “mate” you mean specifically the biological imperative to procreate, perhaps- but sometimes the parts / personalities can fit together for purely companionship reasons, and I can attest that a lifetime journey with a single partner to that point can be a joy beyond easy articulation. More than once in the past 47yrs I’ve found my wife to be the most beautiful and patient person - if not in the world, certainly within reasonable proximity. I used to have playtime Polaroids to prove the first part, but I had to burn them decades ago, and if a pill was available to purge my memories of those times, I’m sure she’d be the first in line for that prescription.
I have been on my own for about last 10 years.
During that time I have got to greatly value my freedom.
