I bought this vintage receiver last Saturday, powered on listening FM and after about 1 hour the sound stopped in sudden, the radio indicator meter still working. I opened the bottom panel and checked the fuses, found that 1 of 6 fuses blowed, replaced with a new fuse, powered on and blowed again immediately. Maybe some components are shorted, does anyone have experience in the problem and give me some advices on how to check out the possible broken components.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
While there may be many options, my guess is that you damaged the power amp section. May be overheating, may be speakers with low impedance, may be else, but it looks like the transformer is ok, and tuner section too, so some good news.
You should look up schematics, and start checking the power output transistors.
If its four channel, you may be lucky to find two channels ok, and just swith the outputs.
Good luck.

Hi Adason,
Thanks for your advice, I will try to check the power output transistors.
