Revox B760 w. Amnesia

Guys, is there a ReVox B760 tuner expert in the room? Mine is suffering from advanced Amnesia, it just evaporates station memory. When not used for months, after power on, I can program some stations which it will keep for few days. After that they are gone, and cannot be re-programmed at that time. Putting it away for some months, it seems to recover and allows to be programmed. For a day or what..

Familiar with this, please let me know (guess I need some new memory board/chip of some kind..) Voltages are OK, I remember I measured.

The sticky (yes, that awful paint) bastard is of no use right now..

Leonard

If your tuner can memorize stations for at least some period of time, it means that voltage and register shifters on the station memory module 1.166.370 are OK, but the memory chips, namely IC01, IC05 and IC08, are failing and have become volatile.

Hello Leonard,

New on this forum I want to greet all the members first.
Leonard I would like to ask you if you have found the memory failure of your Revox B760?
thanks in advance.

Best regards.

Did you replace the battery connected to the Frequency Memory board, under the lid?

There is also a Tantalum cap on the Station Memory board.

NO DISPLAY REVOX B760

I own a REVOX B760 tuner and after ten years I put it into operation. I found that the frequency display does not work, only that of the memory. I have checked the fuses of the lower part and it is OK. What else to check?
I have the repair manual.
THANKS

I have a Revox B77, B750, B760 and B790. Unfortunately it is all 40+ years old and you may find that you have a box of obsolete parts and can't find replacements. Many of the parts in old Revox equipment are not obtainable except as old parts. Even 20 years ago you could obtain parts, but now they are from old units being parted out.

demetrios,
I'm not certain of how the situation is in Greece, but over here in Germany the Revox distributor's service department was very helpful for me to solve the issue that I had with my B791 TT, as described in another thread.
Best regards!
