We get some pretty cool lumber up in the PNW, so I was also thinking of an overgrown faraday cage with walnut/? fascia. Easier if I can buy it built and modify though.
^ Showing $15/per over here. Clever idea!
Pretty sure mine will be sitting out until several other projects get exhausted, then they'll find themselves a box! Failing that, I have a couple old receivers that I could gut with impunity.

Would a 2ohm load be too low for the TPA3251? Got some new speaker plans for an MTM that would either end up 2ohm or 8ohm load...
Placed an order today for the 3255 EVM,free shipping worldwide offered again.
I've seen suitable Meanwell SMPS mentioned here a few times and strongly considering it but would like to know if a linear PSU will have a noticeable advantage taking into consideration the price/performance ratio.
Thanks!

From previous experience a beefy linear supply may improve low end performance. But we are talking a heavy toroid and lots of capacitance. So in short, no. But This was with irs2092 amps. Haven't tried with TPA325x.

No.
Cool. 2ohms it is. The datasheet appeared to say 2.7 minimum so I wasn't sure.
For my own education, does the recommended load depend solely on the output LC filter, and more specifically, the impedance of the speaker around 20khz? In other words, a speaker could measure 4 ohms around 2khz, but the impedance could rise to 8 ohms at 20khz. Would you want the LC filter designed for 8 ohms?
Thanks, Mike
So... just hooked the amp to my MP3 player and my Ed Frias modified BIC DV62si bookshelves, and Meanwell that the Dr. Mod suggested, is the best classD amp I have ever heard. Can't wait to put it all in a case and hook em up to my main speakers and CD player 🙂 Punchy bass and crisp clean highs.
Meanwell LRS-350-48 it is then 🙂
Thanks!
Thanks!

Is this deal still available? The code is working and I was able to place an order for a TPA3245EVM. But some of you seem to have had your orders canceled after a few days?
There was a few people that cancelled when the order was unclear whether it was going to be fulfilled, but many of us recently received our amp boards. If the code is working, I'd assume they'll honor it.

I ordered one Tuesday morning, even though the site stated they were out of stock. Last night I got an email letting me know the board has shipped and will arrive Monday.
Thanks a lot for this info - this encouraged me to order as it also said out of stock - so fingers crossed - and the discount was still working.I ordered one Tuesday morning, even though the site stated they were out of stock. I ordered one on the 6th. It was an odd process - it wouldn't give you the 1/2 price discount until you registered. Then after registering the screen said the amp was out of stock - until the order was completed.
There was an email last night that said it had shipped and is scheduled to be here early next week.
So it'll be about 2 weeks since placing the order and delivery which is far better than expected. They also didn't charge shipping.
The Meanwell power supply got here earlier this week and I'm really looking forward to hearing this amp.
I received an order confirmation and they will let me know when the unit is going to be shipped - so now it's waiting time.
I ordered the 3255evm in September when it was out of stock; got the 50% discount and a confirmation. A few days later I got an email from TI stating that delivery would be between Dec 27 and Jan 30; also the 50% off was gone and they listed a completely different unit that wasn't even an amplifier board. I contacted them and they said the 50% off was still part of the order. I decided to cancel the order and notified them. Their response was "do you want to cancel your order?" Yowza. So I notified them again and it was cancelled. When people started receiving their units and raving, I tried to order again but got a message that I could no longer use the 50% off coupon. TI store too flaky for comfort...
Yup, that’s the process. I registered and in the end it worked for me!
In fact, the rule really is: “only one per order” if you’re registered.
But you can order early and often!
