I'll say in advance, as much as I think they are genuine, I'm making NO GUARANTEES!
I bought a batch of LD1010D power JFETs from Aliexpress.
I've measured from gate to drain and from gate to source, looked like a diode junction in both cases as it should. I put 5V from source to drain and measured a diode from source to drain (as per the datasheet).
Next I put 5A through one to check if it wasn't some cheap small signal JFET: the little sucker pulled my supply down to 300mV. I kept it here for about a minute a few times and there was no obvious sign of damage after (smoking, smell, etc.).
After that I measured the junction leakages: ~1nA Ig at -5Vgs and ~0.5nA Ig at -5Vgd.
The measurements lead me to believe it's either a power depletion MOSFET with diodes added to fake JFET junctions, or the real thing.
Interestingly, I've bought some from another vendor on the 'bay before and they had the laser etching slightly lower and their tabs had rounded corners, unlike these. Did someone start producing these in China?
I might (thermally) decap one in the future if there's interest, they're so damn cheap anyway.

I too bought a few cheap ones off ebay that looked fine but were relabled mosfets. But these fellows deapsurplus have the real deal and they come as a matched pair. Are you building a Zen9 ? Oh if deap surplus has any problems shiping them to you and you only need one pair of them let me know. LU1014D JFET's
Yes I saw your post when searching the forums earlier. I too bought some LU1014Ds from huayi-components and the ones I received were fake too - they weren't even depletion parts🙁.
I found another ebay listing for LU1014Ds that tested good, but they were priced similarly to the deepsurplus ones (and not explicitly matched).
The LD1010Ds that tested good that I got on ebay came from here. When I found them to behave as expected, I bought a small supply.
Later, I found the listing on Aliexpress and decided to give them a go as they were so cheap (buyer protection and all that) and I wouldn't have to be as protective of my stock with so many pieces.
When I found the Aliexpress parts to measure well, I decided to start this thread to (perhaps) provide a community service for people looking to get these parts cheaply.
Currently I'm just playing around with an SRPP topology for educational purposes, I don't have any other concrete plans for the parts.
