HA-DSP
HA-DSP / A portable DSP Headphone Amplifier
Great ingredients !
ADC: AKM5386
USB controller: XMOS xCORE-200 / USB 2.0
DAC: ESS Sabre ES9018K2M
Headphone Amp: TPA6120A2
I hope the system implementation is right.
Has anyone tested it?

This does look interesting George. I like everything about except the TI outlet amp. This will allow one to take a portable FIR correction file that will EQ your headphones to the Harman profile so that it sounds like a million dollar speaker system. I would connect it like a DAC to a good Class A headphone amp.
MiniDSP also makes a measurement dummy head with ears and two mics with a USB interface for measuring headphones. Looks like they want to get into the headphone spade now.

Hi xrk
The concept is very good indeed. I hope someone will post his experience with this equipment.
I can understand what you mean.
TPA6120A2 lacks the harmonic distortion signature that is of your preference but it is an excellent output amplifier and true to the source of music.
It needs care with the layout because it can oscillate.
I have experimented with it. I prefer Rf =1.5kOhm and Ro =100 Ohm
I listen through my old AKG K240 (600 Ohm)

Agreed - love the concept. Implementation though is another matter entirely.
