good i've sent you an email 😏Just email me. You can do that by going through the Contact Us form on my website ... or by adding @neurochrome.com to my username here. I'll invoice you directly for the boards + wire through Paypal.
The SMPS-86 is limited to 2.5 A on each output. That's plenty for a small desktop amp or a mono block driving efficient speakers. You'll get 28 W into 8 Ω (voltage limited) and about the same 28 W into 4 Ω (current limited) for such a mono block.
The Power-86 with a 2x22 VAC transformer (I can recommend a Hammond model for you that you can buy at Mouser) is ideal if you want to unleash all the power of the Modulus-86. You'll get 40 W into 8 Ω and 65 W into 4 Ω with that setup. One Power-86 is plenty for two Modulus-86 boards.
Tom
ok i just paid the 2xModulus86 and will buy a Connex SMPS300RE (i want to avoid mains and will probably need extra power dor speaker protection board).
Thank you all for tour advices, specially Tom for the fast replies

build with LM4702, it is a lot better than any LM3886 ...
few years ago I built this one: LM4702 kit (ask them via email)
for 45€ I got nice working kit (it is stereo) with original parts, mounting profile with screws is also here, and speaker protection is on board ... or alternatively you can try ebay but I am not sure about that (about original transistors in ebay kits) ...
Except that it's impossible to get LM4702 (or LM4780) devices, so it's not even part of the debate at this point.

Dont try to make me a fool, because I post source where it is possible (not forever, but still now), so your post have trash value ...
He's not doing that, those chips are very difficult to find, and if you find them you have to question their quality, original parts or counterfeit?
What makes you believe that your guy sells original parts?
Don't take it personal ,you came out the blue saying that lm4702 is much better than any lm3886 kit. Im sure you did not try all of the lm3886 kits!or lm4780 kits!

sorry, but you have no idea ...
I built many LM3886 and LM4702 kits and many diy experiments with them, you can color it with opamp before but you never get perfect sound result, you can get good sound but not perfect ... even with LM4702 you have not perfect sound, but it is audibly class better like LM3886 ... and I am not talking about technical parameters, but about sound result ...
While you are free to express whatever opinions you like, if you want others to take them seriously then you need to provide some detail and evidence.

about originals, I talked with them in 2012 and they bought bags of ICs directly from original source (along with toshiba output transistors) and they stop selling this kit when stock goes empty -- look at that price, 45€ incl. vat ... but anyway, faking LM4702? are you sure about that? I understand how transistors are faked, or small opamps are faked, but LM4702? it is +-100V ... ebay is not full of these chips, so I doubt about faking them ...
and about business ... I know them and amps are not their business (it is hobby) they sell it for 45€ (stereo kit with all montage material, like screws, montage profiles, kit have output relay protection) vs mono modulus for 89USD (without protection, for stereo you pay 180USD) .... you can decide who is doing business here ...
about what is better and what I tried ... I have not tried modulus, but who knows, maybe sometime I compare LM3886+opamp correction vs LM4702+opamp correction .... but probably waste of time because the winner is clear to me now ...

forum is about opinions, sound is subjective ... what evidence and details you need? I just build few 3886 kits and this one 4702 and compared them ... 3886 have crappy lows, LME49710 sounds like ringing and when you combine them, what can you get 😀 (maybe somebody like it) ... 4702 is way better in sound ... for evidence you need video how I compare it? forget it ...

(no just some basic information) forget it ..(probably a good idea).
That would do for starters

You're welcome. Thank you for your business. Best of luck with your build.

It's not only the modulus86 or parallel86 , Or the pa03 lm4780 chip amplifier(great amp btw) but there is the Mauro Penasa (he past away a few weeks ago) amp myref rev C. All of these are great amps that a lot of people enjoy and you come and tell all of them that they have no idea what crappy sounds is coming from their amps?
Btw I sent an email to your friends about that amp , no answer yet, if PayPal is accepted than I'll buy one. I'll try it .

best if you do your own research for answering your questions, it can satisfied you best 😛

- The LM4780 package contains two LM3886
- I have no review for amp myref rev C, maybe it are good amp
- yes, LM3886 and LME49710 have crappy sound for me, LM3886 have choked lows and LME49710 is ringing in mids, maybe you (and a lot of people) like it
- they are not my friends, I just talked with them because my main question was "what was source of toshiba transistors" to be sure it was trustly source and we talked about whole amp ...

Sadly the LM4780 was obsoleted at the same time the LM4702 was.
Some may be comfortable ordering parts from eBay and the like. I'm not. I also can't hinge my business on obsolete parts. I supported the Parallel-86 (which used the LM4780) as long as it was realistic to do so.

Your opinions are based on what you did, not on anything I may do!
This is what I wrote:
"Hello, I would like to buy an LM 4702 kit, how do I pay, how much is shipping to USA?
Is PayPal ok ? "
And this is what I got back:
"Hello. Kit of Lm4702 amplifiers doesnt buy at this time. Lm4702 was marked as obsolete IC and they doesn t buy.
Regards. Jozef Grolmus"
Too bad , I would give it a try....

it is sad 😡 ... in that case last source is ebay (but if you buy whole assembly, power transistors are 99% faked, LM4702 is original because they were not faked) ...
ok folks, I am sorry for misleading this discussion ; stay with LM3886, forget me and this 4702 ....
LM4702 is original because they were not faked) ...
How do you know? There are tons of examples of fake ICs.

transistors, opamps, they are easy for fake, even 3886 from ebay (they repacked tda2050) and exist whole evidence of this ...
for LM4702 I have not found evidence of faked one and even not for +-70V (or 100 some packages) ... the only way how to find this is buy one and test it with scope for maximal voltage ... maybe I test one ...
ok I bought one and in few weeks I will inform here how it handled ...

If you can fake one IC, you can fake another. One way to do so is to rebadge or repackage a test reject as a real product. You'll get an IC that might mostly work but will fail one or more of the data sheet parameters. You'll have to measure all the parameters in the data sheet table, under the conditions used by the manufacturer (specified in the table), to verify that you have a good part.
I'm not saying that all eBay vendors are dishonest or that all products on eBay are fake. I'm just saying: Buyer beware. You may be able to get a good part from one vendor one day and a bad part from the same vendor next time you order. If you order through the official distributors at least you're getting genuine parts that have passed final test at the manufacturer.
