Lucky me?
I have been gifted a pair of 1100's, and an adcom gtp500ii, gfa 535. and given the task with hooking them up to see if they work (been in storage for decades.)
I'm looking for wall transformers for them and a few simple/clever ways to hook them up to see if they sing. I'm not familiar with them ( ..or high end audio, and the person who gave them to me has no idea how to best go about it. Any suggestions would be most helpful.

Please have the amp and preamp properly tested by a technician before you try to use them,
it's worth the cost. Severe damage could otherwise result. Do not in any event connect equipment
to the speakers unless you are sure that it works properly first.

Yes, thanks the adcom stuff has been tested and works fine. Not sure how to hook up the speakers to this amp combo and if it will be enough to power them for a quick test. Anybody have a simple diagram of possible ways to do it?
Replacement wall transformers are currently available for reasonable price on ebay...item number: 291309975547...I'm looking for wall transformers for them and a few simple/clever ways to hook them up to see if they sing.

Attached is the manual for your speakers which should provide the guidance you need to hook them up. As a starting point, I would stick with the standard configuration shown in Figure 4. Make sure to set the toggle switch between the binding posts to the "Single Amp" position.

Glad to hear you got your Spectra-1100s up and running. Happy listening 🙂
One other thing I meant to mention is that the speakers are labeled on the back as to which side (left or right) they should be used on. This is mentioned on page 2 in the manual, but is certainly easy to miss. The reason for this is that the dispersion pattern was optimized to provide more uniform high frequency coverage toward the listener and away from the side walls.
