Yesterday I decided to open my old Samick sense 100K keyboard amp (also known as MASS). Some pots were creaking, (and giving sudden on/off moments) so I gave a try at spraying the pots (which partially helped). 🙄
To my surprise, in the speaker section there was a hole (bass reflex vent?) but no tube. Is this normal? also no dampening on the inside of the 45x30x20 cm Speaker section.
The sound of the amp is ok, but not very convincing, (Roland is better). Might it be an idea to install a bass tube and/or dampening?
(Or perphaps a better speaker?)

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
It is what it is, that is normal. Tuning the port may or may not give you changes you will find better.

The combination of the driver , the volume of the box, the tuning frequency, and the diameter of the vent, makes the length of the tube just as long as the thickness of the baffle.

Or they just didn't care
