wanted: TDA1541A S1 or S2 Crown

Im suspicous too. From what Im aware is production from 1995
onwards TDA 1541 where all produce in Taiwan & since it is so the
word Taiwan is stamped on the left hand side of the the chip.
Problem with this is that there's no special markings etc to know
if its is genuine until you get to listen to it.

Here is one - but is also suspicious to me because it has no stripe.
Otherwise letters, S1 and crown seem genuine enough.
I noticed some were really with no stripe, but were also S1 like this?

Location is defined by the letters.
To quote the duchaudioclassics website:

1541 code ABC 1234 (Y):
A: silicon processing facility
B: assembly facility
C: test facility

12: year
34: week

Y: development chip (no standard chip m ask was used)

The names of the facilities are:

A
H: Nijmegen Holland
J: Caen France
R: Hsinchu/TSMC Taiwan

B
H: Nijmegen
S: Kaohsiung Taiwan
B: Hamburg Germany

C
Nijmegen Holland

So a TDA1541A HSH9236 was processed in Nijmegen, assembled in Kaohsiung Taiwan, tested in Nijmegen Holland.
It was produced in the year 1992, week 36. A TDA1541A S2 RSH9713 was processed in Hsinchu/TSMC Taiwan, assembled in Koashiung Taiwan, tested in Nijmegen Holland.
It was produced in the year 1997, week 13.

Here is one - but is also suspicious to me because it has no stripe.
Otherwise letters, S1 and crown seem genuine enough.
I noticed some were really with no stripe, but were also S1 like this?

What is the number 2 one can see sometimes instead the Y or just before it on some chips ? There is also sometimes "1"

second choice ?

I have also a TDA1541 non A from 1987 marked after the month : "5 Y" ?!

all my chips are HSH from 1987 to 1998 ! and no HJH in my collection despite they were sourced on genuine dac players pcbs in France !

On the Taiwan I have : you notice with a carefull inspection than printing is whiter and a little thickier (not the same font than the others) : I have a doubt on its genuine origin... Anyone have Taiwans to compare ?

same chips reversed, you can see on the two on the top : more or less 4 metalic dots near the corner and the circles! It gives no clear tip imo : photograph of the one at the top, the bottom one and the left one were desoldered by me on cd players (Marantz/Philips)

Just the middle one where the metallic dots are more visible were sourced (the Taiwan 98) : but as it's a HSH too : 2 explanations : it's a fake or they changed their tool and marking font... which is also possible as there are ten years between this chips and the others !

If you look at the other side, you can look at a marking which was maybe the injection plastic port : they have all the same width on all my tda chips but the Taiwan 98 at the left which is larger (around 1/4 widther) : so defintly not the same machine Tools for production or from elswhere !

Any ideas or testimonials ? Hope also it can help other members to source good ones ! But my idea is many bad tda chips you can see on the EBay markett are perhaps second sorted choice after quality control ! It could be cool if some guys of Philips whom read us have any idea ! (not vendors)
