Is 6J51P fit to drive a EL34SE?

The smallest EDCOR SE Transformer I will use is the GXSE 15W series.

I've not tried the 5W transformers, but the 10W transformers, sound inferior to the 15W transformers to me.

The XSE series lack inductance and low end response suffers, so I quit using them.

Hmm I didn´t know they made 10 and 15w XSE series... I must have the 5w one.
Well I´m gonna have to save some money and buy the CSXE but I see they are no 5K of them
only 3,75 and 6K,and if I use the 807 what to use?
I belive theres another thread about 807`s here now.

Edit:I found out now that there are 5K to...

I have an old DIY amp with EL34SE that I wanna change the drivers on,I have seen schemas with 6SL7 driving the 34´s therefore I saw the 6J51P has about the same Mu if I use ut in triode mode.
The 6J9P has about half of that, that might be to low...?

universal gain formula is: voltage gain = gm x Rl,
the 6j9 abd 6j51 will have more gm than the 6sl7's...
do not hesitate to use them,

in one SE i built, the psu for the voltage amp was taken from
a separate traffo winding and had higher voltage than the output stage....
i make my own power traffos and so supplies are not an issue with me...

Is this schema allright?

The driver and the IT trafo is in the chassie that I use to drive the EL34.

That schematic works but it is very far from Hifi.
Inter trafo hardly has flat frequency response, but the pentode connected output stage surely does not have.
In addition the distortion is high and damping factor non-existent.

Is this really what you try to achieve ?
If it is NOT hifi then it´s not..
I didn´t know that about Inter trafos (if it makes any difference it is a Lundahl) ,maybe better to use cap instead..?
Regarding the 807,have been watching how other people on the web have connected it,since it only gives about 1,6w in triodmode.Maybe use another tube afterall if I can´t get more out of it in triodmode..?

I am puzzled though why in most schematics, like here, these are drawn with reversed phase.
It must have been a design miss by me..😱

Regarding the 807,have been watching how other people on the web have connected it,since it only gives about 1,6w in triodmode....

With 400 V supply voltage, fixed bias, some 60 mA idle current (Ik) and 3k5...5k transformer
you will get about 5W in triode mode. That 1.6 W is with 250 to 300 V supply voltage.

I have used a lot of soviet made G807 as UL-PP amplifier with 450 V anode/G2-voltage without any problems with tube life etc.

I tried (just for fun) a 6J51P instead of the 6J49P with 10mA through it I thoght it sounded thinner..
(This is the EL34SE)
But maybe I shouldn´t judge it to hard it might be some other component that is the limmiting factor the IT trafo or the OPT.
