Ive just moved house and reassembled my vintage stereo, when I tried the turntable the sound seemed strange, the singers voice seemed to be other-worldly like it had gone through a synthesizer, I changed the stylus for a new one but it made no difference? Before I start pulling everything apart,do you think it could be just knocked out of alignment and needs resetting? 😀

How do your other sources sound, like the FM tuner or cd? Maybe it's the room acoustics.
Do other people's voices in that room have a similar coloration? If the room seems ok,
are the speakers wired properly in-phase?

Yes everything else is working OK and its not the room. I was hoping someone else had come across the same thing?
That's an interrupted ground connection, possibly a bad RCA cable. Some continuity / resistance testing may provide more insight.
