Private message limits

Hi,

I think most of us are aware that the private message system limits you to 1 message per 1 minute period. I can understand that - it's not a free email service!

But if I have 4 or 5 message waiting to be answered, the limit should not apply IMHO. it's pretty frustrating if all you want to do is reply to somebody else's message you have to wait between each reply.

Makes sense?

I agree 100%.

Not only that, but if you do try to reply sooner than at 1 minute interval, the timer 're-sets' to zero .....

It's definitely a penalty for those who can 'type' (quickly) on a keyboard with more than two fingers!🙂

I thought the 1 minute rule was some sort of spam prevention thing, not a barrier to email communication?? A lot of users seem unwilling to move a 'conversation' to their private email, depending instead on the message system here.

When large image files are allowed for upload and download, I can't imagine that text email can be much of a strain on the bandwidth or storage of the system.

I have been mass-spammed in PM on other forums. There needs to be some throttle.

However I should think that a guy with 20,319 posts and few complaints could be allowed less anti-spam restriction. The problem then is, can this forum's software grant that privilege selectively?

It also be interesting to can post a (Single?) attached file to the PM's. It is a bit complicated to ask a guy the personal email to send him some stuff that is use only by the two who are interchanging personal info.

It would be simpler to be sent directly from here.

Osvaldo.

Just did the donation, it didnt increase my PM limit nor the duration of privilege..😕
Does it take some time reflect in my account?

It isn't clear to me whether 'topping up' my donation (say, with another $10) would 'boost' me to the $20 level, or whether I'd need to make a 'fresh' donation at the higher level to get the benefits.
I interpreted your question as addressing this point, but I may have read it incorrectly.
