Hi Guys,
There is a new interesting looking Danley product called the SM80F.
it combines the synergy SM80 with a dual 15" tapped horn in a box.

1700 watts continuous seems quite high for a 15" driver...
If it's b&c it can take about half of that, sinewave 3 db crest.
I thermally limit my b&c 4,5" vc's with 70-80% of the cont. Value no failure so far after about 100h of use
Very potent drivers!

Serious looking specs above 50hz. 9ft or so of path length folded in there. I want one for my bass rig.
It's pretty crazy, but it looks to be accurate. They're almost certainly using B&C 15SW115 woofers.1700 watts continuous seems quite high for a 15" driver...

It's probably about right that it can take 850w of sinewave. Really stout drivers.

Impressive, and thanks for the link - I did not know there were 15s around that could take this kind of abuse! Handy to know...
Cheers, Carl.

You forget it are 2 drivers. So shared load.

I didn't forget - they claim 3400W for the two.

They've been around a while now. Wait until you spot the IPAL drivers.

I can't see how its a synergy horn there is only a shallow horn loaded coaxial and what looks like bass reflex ports on the edge of its horn. Serious specs though, am I missing something?
The whole Synergy horn thing is weak. The patent describes nothing like that arrangement. Ivan from DSL says it's the crossover that makes it a Synergy horn, yet the crossover is not even mentioned in the claims in the Synergy patent. The claims in the Synergy patent are essentially the same as in the Unity patent, which has now expired. What protects DSL the most from other companies using these MEH's is that they are hard to get right and beyond the ability of the average loudspeaker designer. A coax is another issue altogether, any crossover designer can do a crossover for one.
