Tattoo You?

Necessity (debatable as you mix up only one sometimes truly necessary issue with "luxury" aesthetic issues) against useless mutilation.

It is sometimes hard to make a point. I have noticed this more often when discussing "body-art". Anyone thinking of comparing facial reconstructive surgery (after a terrible accident etc.) with tattoos and piercings is not clearly thinking.

Facial reconstructive surgery is the professional medical term for cosmetic plastic surgery.
There's hardly anyone in the Hollywood business who hasn't underwent cosmetic plastic surgery. I've witnessed nose jobs for years in my medical days, and every other useless cosmetic surgical procedure.
Half the globe gloats Kardashian bottom every day, or their gossip.

Already stated in previous posts, tattooing techniques are used for a range of valid medical procedures : folks with skin issues, surgical reconstruction of female breasts (areolae), mouth, etcetera.

I've thoroughly discussed tattoo ink, and long term effects, with licensed and residency (AIOS) radiologists decades ago.
Here's one, Mano Stroeken : Team - HELIOS Kliniken GmbH
He did his training in the Catharina hospital in Eindhoven, same time-frame as me.

(Mano is a Limburger, still resides in Venlo. Bit of a Nazi, trained commando, initially wanted to be a professional socker player, but realised he lacked sufficient technique skills, so decided to become a >€250k radiologist. Mano and me played socker together, also the one who showed me with a ruler on a skull Xray what the perfect angle is to jam the nasal septum through the os ethmoidale into the frontal lobe of the brain. Takes ones to know one)

Everyone has an opinion, in particular those without factual knowledge and/or experience.

Typical straying with medical terms to make some kind of a point while the subject was tattoos. I was clear in my post and I was not debating medically necessary surgery or medically necessary tattoos. Those reconstruct the original natural look of certain body item that is lacking. You illustrated this by adding a picture of a person that had necessary cosmetic plastic surgery mixed with useless "enhancements" to detract from the aspect. Now you shift to being the guy that knows and comparing equally useless aesthetic "enhancements" with other useless aesthetic "enhancements". I think there is a clear line between necessary and useless tattoos and in my experience 99.9% of what I see on the youth is absolutely disgusting butt ugly tattoos lowering them a social class or two.

To make sure I repeat why own post:

All I see is legions of young people following each other by mistreating their bodies by having the worst of tattoos and piercings in the worst (= visible) places. Call it fashion, call it a hype but it is a phenomenon that almost pushes kids to have it done. Kids feel placed out of the group when they don't have tattoos. Peer pressure with regards to tattoos, who could have thought of that ? The most intelligent ones have butt ugly tattoos in their necks immediately disqualifying them for a decent job. Quite comical a lady said to me that the XL tattoo on her back was done for herself while not even being able to look at it herself 🙂

I am sure that this hype of "body-art" will pass and that it will give problems on the already difficult job market. Not to mention the silly problem of having to remove these tramp stamps when they feel ashamed. All self inflicted nonsense.

Worse of all is that one is almost forced to like this. I am entitled to my own opinion. If I think it is disgusting then I don't need to be convinced of the "beauty" of these "enhancements".

Every human already is unique, no need for mutilation to enhance the uniqueness.

Have fun with your body art old man.

Much obliged, judging by the name calling I appear to perform a whole lot better in my inked skin than you do in your silky smooth one.
You sound more like an old geezer than I do, imho. You've been a member of this club for the last 15 years, means my son would call you an old fckr.
(it's OK, I've been telling the kids for years to call me a dumb old fck)

For the record, you skipped that the average woman who bends over in the supermarket, to display her tribal bum, is granny grade.
I should know, my main residency is the No1 beach resort under Rotterdam.

(The guy on your avatar had a lot of ink, btw, I've met with HB a couple of times)

Whatever happened to 'Branding' which seemed to rear it's ugly head for a while a few years a go. Repeated application of a hot bent wire to raise a patterned scar for decorative reasons.
It is the one thing that I find disturbing about this sort of body art. Whether it is tattooing, branding, piercing, or in some cultures 'cutting', they all depend on ones ability to tolerate the pain involved.

Very wierd in my mind, and I cannot work out a reason for it. Perhaps modern humans do not experience enough discomfort in their day to day lives so this makes up for it somehow.
