Speakers Worthy of Pass Amps?

I am really enjoying these. Nelson said they would work with the F3. Now using SIT-2.

Once new JFET is built and tested, it goes into duty. WBS commented he would like to hear these OB's. PM me.

Thanks! I did not round the corners, but I do love them.

Lowther PM6a with First Watt is a great pairing. And the bass from the slot loaded woofer is unbelievable in my room. Eminence Definimax 15.

Thanks Nelson! A fun build and a great speaker IMHO.

Good eye ZM. I need to crop tighter.
The Bottlehead is a tape head preamp that loves to hum along with the music. I can't get it to work well. 😱
Am I smart enough to reconfigure a SS phono preamp to the curve of the tape head? Not sure, but i'm going to try.

A few more pics.
Cheers!

When I posted the below, I had misunderstood the intended scope of this thread. I thought it was mostly about the low powered amps, especially the ACAs. Obviously these low power amps have different requirements, and they are better performing with certain drivers and complete loudspeakers. The more powerful amp designs are more versatile of course.

IMHO they tend to sound very good with full/wide range efficient drivers. Often with
"Helper" woofers. These don't have to be as big as some of those mentioned to be good.

For the ACAs which are about 6 watts, a variant of the Fostex 103 and other similar drivers is a good start.

Speaking of ACA's after a year of relocating, new job, blahblahblah I'm gonna start on them. My listening room has went from 15x25' to 12x12 with one corner an office setup, so we be in the near field listening arena now. I've gotten rid of all but my old midfi stuff and am starting over, but would like to get some small monitors or such. Any recommendations besides the old Polk Monitor 5B's I'll never part with (1st speakers back in the day)?

nope , Sonido

sonido.hu , I spoke a little about them to you

in reality - your GrandMa's Telefunken speaker , but on steroids

OK - your GrandMa maybe had RCA , with greatest quality that you can fall asleep while they're singing , dreaming all childish dreams
