Hi,
I'm working on collecting the parts for a Get Set Go amp. I have the option of getting either a JS-6113HS or a JS-6113H. I'm having trouble finding out what the difference is between the two transformers, and wondered if anyone had any thoughts? I've attached the spec sheets for both transformers.
Thanks!
~Brad

H: 10Hz...29kHz (5k:8, -3dB); 33H; 1.3kg
HS: 21Hz...51kHz (5k:8, -3dB); 18H; 1.6kg
For me HS is better alternative, despite of smaller inductance (therefore larger bottom -3dB frequency).
Probably the primary DCR of "H" version is significantly (double?) larger than "HS" version (33H on 1.3kg iron versus 18H on 1.6kg iron).
p.s.
These lightweight (1.3-1.6kg) transformers are not the "bass lovers" music interpreters. 🙂
IMHO the larger 6123 series is highly recommended.

Hello, I'm also gathering parts for a Get Set Go and was thinking about the James transformers. They haven't been offered on TC Tubes for a while so I wrote to them. They say that James has discontinued making transformers! Do you have another source? Also, is it worth getting the 6123 HS over the others even though the GSG is a low powered amp? Thanks in advance.
I see. So the HS has a much better frequency response in the high end.
It's a trade-off.. with the HS, you give up a full octave of low-end, in exchange for about 2/3 of an octave more high-end.
