Why would one want the DAC clocks to be slave to the Pi? It seems to me that if the DAC clocks are the ones designed for audio processing then you'd want them to be the master on a box that was dedicated to playing music.

You wouldn't want to slave to the Pi.

My example mentioned another HAT called a Kali re-clocker. Some folks have wanted to try the HB DAC+ Pro in slave mode in order to use the master clocks on a dedicated re-clocking board such as the Kali.

I think the answer is "not easily". Though if someone tells me I'm wrong and that it is easy, well, that might be a pleasant surprise.

AIUI Linux bluetooth audio requires Pulseaudio (or similar?!?). This was not the case in the past when it interfaced to ALSA.

It may be possible to do it, though it would require some fancy dancing to get Pulseaudio to appear as an input to MPD/MoOde.

Ok thanks. That sounds like it's too hard for the time being ;-)

I think Tim's asking you to SSH (remote connect) into your Raspberry Pi and run a program from the command line, using the command he gave you. You may need to take a screenshot (Alt+PrtScr in Windows) showing the text the program outputs.

If you don't have it set up already, connect your Pi to your network (probably best to use Ethernet connection). Download and install a program named PuTTy on your Windows PC.

Download PuTTY - a free SSH and telnet client for Windows

Run Putty, username = pi, password = raspberry. I think you need to put the phrase "sudo" before each command, but I'm not sure of that (being that I'm a complete newbie too).

I hope that helps get you started.

Here's a tutorial on using putty. If this one doesn't help there are videos on Youtube that will show you how it works. Just do a search on "putty howto" or "ssh howto".

The instructions look intimidating but it's really a pretty simple process. After you do it once or twice it'll become second nature to you.

Thanks for the tips it was fairly painless.

Jempie

The only way to learn is to jump in with both feet forward. When puTTY comes up the ssh box was ticked and all I did was put mode.local where it said Host.
I am hooked up by ethernet

Once I entered the login and password I entered sudo cat /log/moode.log. Make sure there is a space between cat and / No spaces for the rest.

Good Luck

Hi Tim,

First, thanks for this awesome distribution. I spent some time trying to find a Pi MPD distro that was actively maintained and this has really hit the spot.

What are the chances that MPD 0.20.2 that was just released makes it into Moode 0.32? It has a fix for CUE skipped among other things. Most of my classical collections use CUE sheets so its a pretty big fix for me.

Cheers!

Hi,

Sure no prob. Reading the change log it looks like it has other important bug fixes as well so I'll definitely compile it for Moode 3.2

Thanks for bringing attention to the new MPD release and thanks for the nice compliment! Much appreciated :)

What speed is your LAN?

Is your source material still on a USB-attached drive on your Pi? If it is, you are hauling the source back to your LMS, then sending it back to the source device, as well as the other, synched, device.

Even 10Mbit Ethernet should be able to handle 32/384, but if you're sending it back and forth, itsmthe turnaround that's killing you. Try attaching your source to LMS and see if that works any better.

When you've finished sending data from LMS, isqueezelite should quiesce and allow MPD or AirPlay to run

Help is needed. I am trying to include Kali reclocker with Chinese dac on the ES9018 chip on I2S. XMOS board dismantled and instead of it connected by Kali BCLK, MCLK, LRCLK, DOUT and GND. DSD is not connected. Hanging in the air. In Kali DSD not. Music plays with strong distortion. The LED on the DAC shows the DSD mode. How do I translate it in PCM? To connect from the DSD DAC?

Tim,

Awesome interface, awesome SQ, very clean, crisp, and responsive. All the UI's I tried, this one works effortlessly and the sound quality is amazing, but need some help with a few tweaks.

I too am trying to get rid of the Genres. I did the fix from this post:

http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/pc-based/271811-moode-audio-player-raspberry-pi-441.html#post4818034

However, the Artists does not fill the whole page. Like, the list does not go all the way to the bottom.

Also, any way for the Library to a) be able to add the entire album like you can in the Browse panel, b) make the Artist and Album the default screen on a smartphone in portrait mode, but then have the Songlist appear when in landscape?

Another lastly I would like is that I use a DAC that has a fixed output and have no use for the volume control on the Playback screen. Anyway to get rid of that and make the playback countdown bigger?

I guess I do not know as much CSS as I should, so sorry for the newbie questions.

Hi,

Click on the album art in the Library panel and menu will appear.

The Library loader requires Genre, Artist and Album tags.

Why does your collection not have Genre tags?

Thanks. Adding the whole album that way works.

My collection does have Genre tags. I don't care for them or use them. I browse by artist mostly. I was just trying to streamline the smartphone interface because I will be using that interface the most.

Clicking on the album art in the Library panel does the trick for adding the album to the playlist and is a great way to save screen real estate space for this function. Great job.

My collection does have Genre tags, I just do not use them. I browse my collection my artist. Just always have and trying to make the interface more user friendly with a smartphone.

Any ways in getting the Artists to fill the whole page or to hide the Tracks in portrait mode?

Thanks!

Hi,

Artists instead of Albums as option on Smartphone is on my TODO list. Eventually I'll get to it.
