Anyone modified crossover on Roksan Kandy K2 TR5

Hi All, I'm new here. Currently considering tweaking the crossover on my Roksan speakers. The goal is to achieve a more flat frequency response. I believe the simple solution would be to make the tweeter quieter.

I've never attempted any speaker DIY before. I've not soldered since late nineties 🙂

Does anyone have any experience with the above modifications? I've not even taken them apart yet but feel I'd be up to the job if given some pointers.

Thank in advance

I haven't measured it. Vocals are clearly forward and whether they've done it intentionally or not I'm not sure. Probably, I'd say. I bought these with intention to listen to jazz and for that they're brilliant. Apparently they were designed to do it. Vocals superb, cymbals sizzling, lots of air in treble. Beautiful timbre on horns. Bass from such small cabinets really punchy and textured, sure not deep but you can expect that from this size cabinets. Brilliant speakers but slightly flawed in a way.

Reviews seem to confirm this as well. And hifi pig review of new S2 version seems to indicate that the issue has been resolved. The RRP has also increased to £1,050. I'd rather do some work on the crossover than replace the whole thing.

Must admit these look better made than any crossovers I've seen

The way filter components are placed, I'm not able to draw the schematic of it, hence don't realize which of the four resistors are the padding resistors. Roksan did it very practical so it's not so easy to do the job. Who knows, maybe the potential remedy would include the woofer filter as well and in that case things get further complicated. Board is soldered to terminal, a little bit harder to work around it than one would like to.

It did look very professionally made and like they didn't want anyone to modify it. Oh well. I guess it's a speaker upgrade after all. I wouldn't trust myself doing a completely new XO so will have to abandon the idea.

Thank you for your help!
