What are you drinking?

If I were, for some reason, stranded in the desert, a thousand miles from civilization not having had a drink in six days and came across a vat of cat urine on the left and a fresh keg of Schaefer beer on ice on the right, I would probably die of thirst deciding which would be my poison. So yes, that bad.

We had Chateau St Jean Sauvigon Blanc -- from Sonoma a short drive from family. Not bad. Their cab ain't bad but unavailable here on the East Coast.

What would one prefer to Hershey ? -- few things go better on top of vanilla ice cream than the canned variety. Hershey make a "dutched cocoa" with a slightly different pH than the ordinary cocoa -- and it compares quite favorably with Droste.

I tip my hat to Leonidas and Neuhaus chocolates, but you might as well turn over your Amex card...La Maison du Chocalat in NYC, meme chose aussi.

In every major city you can do stupid money on chocolate especially truffles, my sister took me to a place in Chicago where every truffle was as complicated as a Faberge egg. I'm happy with the Lindt Extra Bitter Sweet at (IIRC) 70+% solids.

It's pronounced "Cha-fer". (long "A")

Where are you Miss Rheingold, Queen of NYC beers?

the appropriate aperitif for your current viewing and listening pleasure

Hersheys is to chocolate as 8-track is to hi-fi?

Hersheys is to chocolate what Schaefer is to beer...

my jest was in reference to the dude's current fling with 40+yr old tape playback technology

just read a short article in the paper - November 30 the 60th anniversary of time-shifting of television broadcast by video-tape in the US - a quantum leap over the film kinescope method.

I've just sat down to enjoy a cup of Fresh, Hot Black Coffee with nothing added to come between this carefully blended exotic "Safeway's Common Shelf Brand" and myself. One of the secrets is, of course, to drink from a coffee mug that has been carefully guarded to avoid unthinking hands from placing it in hot soapy water and thus destroying the time consuming process of painstakenly building layer upon layer of the coffee patina.

Best Regards,

Someone brought me that Hershey stuff over from Canada. Never tasted such bad chocolate in my life except Koetjesrepen which contain so little chocolate that they can't be called chocolate (they call them chocolate fantasy). https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koetjesreep

I think Hershey spends a lot on marketing as the english speaking person assured me it was good quality chocolate even after pulling a yuk face :D

The Hershey stuff (various tastes) had a strange cheesy taste in all the flavours I tried, it is not comparable with Lindt.

if you let it sit long enough, with about 1/4 cup unconsumed, new forms of life start to emerge from a carefully cultivated coffee cup.

Have stayed in Cahors a few times - last time was November 2015.
