Piltrons * may* be great But cheap Anteks (50$) are working Perfectly for me.
Totally utterly noiseless.
Mouser supplies Most all parts and charges a flat 8$ delivery to canada.
Diy Shoppe is a good source of Matched Jfets
But then.. So is Alweit.

at 7$ for each half of a matched quad

Bear in mind that Alweit's JFETs are GR grade and, when last I heard, were only available with IDSS below 4mA. This will not be ideal for, say, the F5, and other designs may suffer as well.
Lol, no they're on my list. Just budgeting and buying the supplies as I can. Going to be ordering my parts from Mouser soon. As for the transistors I believe the diy store says they're sold out, so it looks like I'll have to get them from Mouser as well. Maybe Santa will bring me the chassis for Christmas! 😬
Send a PM to member Nic Mac. He is selling matched transistors and mighthave what you need. Or you can buy a large quantity and match them yourself. If you plan on building other amps this might be the better route.

Although GL grade may work (low IDSS)
I think it is better having spent the big money on other parts to get correct B grade.

Agreed.. the Diy shoppe Jfets are suited.
Hardly Big money tho for the other bits, at least from Mouser ie: 240s are inexpensive.. shipped in an oem tube, usually being decently matched due to manufacturing sequences. as bonus.
Only items that are pricey are Cases.
No getting around that however, as even DIY effort enclosures end up of similar costs, by the time they are completed 😉

Hi Dennis,
Yes that's exactly what I'm looking for. I did see the Plitron site and they are also around my areas of work so that's definitely an option. Thx!
Plitron also has a $250US minimum order. Works out OK for something like a couple of PS/Choke pairs for a tube amp, but these little dual 18~25V jobs didn't get me there.
