Destroyer, if you have a curiosity, perhaps you should ask in a form that doesn't insinuate that this group you've made in your head follow some sort of set rules (e.g. that "objectionist" don't actually enjoy music). At least try to let people hang themselves by the rope they provide, rather than making stuff up!

And, no, I find it bizarre the things some people find important. Who cares what everyone else has?

Now we have both Destroyer and Bear telling me I'm sensitive. And Destroyer throwing out more medical advice he's wildly out of his league in terms of... (spare me)

I should add, a while ago, Destroyer, you offered a listen to your system if it were ever possible. And in the spirit of "no really, I'd probably enjoy spending time with any of y'all," I'm offering that I do in fact appreciate the offer. Promise I'm really not as acrimonious as might appear on this thread.

I don't promise that you'd somehow sway my opinions about this or that, but as long as the music's good, I'm probably happy. 😀

Here's my room. As you can see I've got resistors and inductors and things laying about... I was cleaning it but then I got into a frenzy of working on stuff. And yes anyone is invited over for a listen. I think you'll be thoroughly surprised/pleased beyond what you'd expect. Although the $ figure here isn't overly valued, that majority of $100k+ stereo's I've heard were not as good due to electronics.

Top down:
My amplifier, working on fine tuning to be a commercial unit.

Experimental filter, Preamp using some Kuarlotron's, DACT from eBay for volume. (Buffer has modified PSU by me)

Bel Canto CD1 (has some problems towards the end of CD's, can't decide if I want to send it in or not)

My power conditioner.

Speakers are GR-Research X-LS Encore's, under is some Horn FE126 units that sometimes are useful for a listening check with something different. I don't know whether I'll make my own speakers or get something else. It's not a super high priority since I can make electronics just fine without super fancy speakers... JC and I may disagree here. But listening tests with better speakers than his would side with me.

Well, I'm catching some Ryan Adams on my system. The power amp is my e-Amp which I recently switched to 220 VAC input. Last time I had it fired up was in Taiwan about 2 years ago. I am using an Oppo CD player and a new preamp. Rated at 180 W output into 8 ohms.

I have high anticipation to learn what you total objectionist use to listen to music.
One of the nice things about this forum is that few feel it necessary to brag about their systems. Given that in many cases they will be DIY systems, at least in part, name-dropping has little interest for us. Please don't spoil things. We don't want 'subjectionists' telling us we are deaf/poor/unmusical because we don't have systems designed by gurus and improved by snake oil gizmos.

I'm not surprised you'd be so negative. 🙄 It's not about bragging. If I can say something good about many of the "uneducated audiofools" it's that at least they know how to be nice, share, and have fun.

I'd post a picture of my setup, but first I'd have to tidy up the place. 🙄 Hell with that - this old bachelor would rather listen to more music, or watch another movie. (Tonight it's the annual anniversary showing of Woodstock.) Besides, my system keeps shrinking (computer -> little DSP boxes -> power amps -> speakers) - less and less gear to even take pictures of these days.
