This product caught my eye and I don't see that it has been discussed. I was wondering what use to make of it and whether it had some adhesive property. I have used Liquid Nails adhesive and liked it because it was cheap and stuck anything to anything.

I have kerfed plywood to make small curved enclosures and filled the kerfs with Liquid nails before bending it. There wasn't a lot of squeeze out and it did a nice job holding the shape. And on small panels I could not tell some obvious problm with resonance issues. But now I am planing a very large project of over 10cu.ft. And that is potentially an issue, maybe not. I don't need to rely on the adhesive property because there will be plenty of bracing, but it would be swell if it did.

Anyone have any experience with this stuff?

Hi Bruce
I've used a Fuller product called "Firestop" which may be similar, it is an acoustic and fireproof sealant. Compared to regular adhesive it never truly sets and that is how it works. I wouldn't use if for kerfing but it is good for joining panels of dissimilar materials for constrained layer damping with large surface areas and relatively little stress on the joint. Hope this helps.

For deadening, I like what Geddes recommends : Liquid Nails for subfloors.
I like mortite even better, but it's a lot more work.

For bonding wood, I use Titebond II if I'm in a hurry. If I have the time to make a serious bond, I use T-88 epoxy.

T-88 was an interesting find. I'd been using West Systems for at least a decade, and noticed T-88 on Amazon. I bought it because it's cheaper, but found that it makes a KILLER substitute for wood glue. The reason is because it's INSANELY thick. Much much thicker than West Systems. And for some reason, it really seems to penetrate wood to a greater degree than West Systems or Titebond.

TLDR: T-88 epoxy makes a great substitute for wood glue.

I'm always seem to be gilding the lily. Tightbond III is my goto for keeping wood things stuck together and Liquid Nails is my goto for sticking about anything together. These are going to be large panels I'm planing on kerfing into a teardrop cab. I have this wild hair to form up the back of the enclosure out of a single sheet of plywood. I'm still debating the total volume but 48" tall wrapped around a 24" wide baffle is gonna take most of a sheet to get to 14 cu.ft. or their abouts.

I will look into the subfloor Liquid Nails option, as I'm not needing the adhesive properties so much as I don't want to introduce issues with something that might have unintended consequences on such a larg panel.

I'm grateful for the knowledgeable feedback and encouragement.

Bruce
