For a monitor, not too important if it fails, is not a bad idea. NOT for FOH though, as when it fails you have nothing.
I don't see why it wont work.
I have designed a few irs2092 based amps and they sound and perform well.
Nice to know it is short circuit proof as accidents do happen.
Provided they have put care in to designing it then it should be fine.
The irs2092 is not the easiest amp to design as it is fussy about pcb layout and decoupling. Decoupling output mosfets is important too.
