I personally like the sound of a t-line. I own a pair of Definitive Technology BP-10s. Picked them up in 1994 and still using them almost daily. As for the bass output for four 6 inch drivers its pretty impressive. I can't imagine what two 12s could do. Good luck with your project.

Matt.
Gents can you help me a little more please. I've seen the calculation which I don't understand and the graphs produced by Bjorn, what enclosure style shall I go for here ? The TL or the sealed box as per the original spec sheet ??
I'm really confused now

PS: I aimed at Reggae, House, Garage, Dub Step with a design that can play the whole expected BW with authority and SQ.

Sir that is excellent, but I can't see the port on the design, am I missing something?
Also most annoyingly the drivers have arrived this morning and one has been dropped and is badly damaged. The vendor is being reasonable but doesn't have any more of the same.
He's not too far from me and has offered to bring round a pair of infinity 1240w units. The Internet tells me that these are also from the Harmon stable, the same as JBL, specs for the infinity are available on Internet but I don't know how to attach here
So humbly can I ask you go again please with the new drivers this time, sorry about this folks
And by the way I've never tried TLs before, is this the way to go to generate lots of rich deep bass?
Many thanks Parm
Hey guys forget my post 24 as ive managed to get my hands on some fresh drive units, apparently they are difficult to get hold of because they are discontinued.
I'm gonna stick with the TLs as suggested by bjorno. I will be back to ask more questions when I start to get my head round some of the info. Xmas festivities aren't helping

Right Sir
I've spent a bit of time getting my head round the information you've supplied. Am I correct in thinking that the bottom right picture is the constructional details and dimensions of the cabinet and that it needs 0.3 kg of acoustic fill ?
If I think I'm correct then I'm ready to cut some wood and have a play 🙂
I have never before seen a ''tapped transmission line arrangement before, nore with that additional back segment.. Im intreaged. Looks to be a good design.
Is there a thread for this type of design? Does it have a name? Is it in the freedomain?
It's a tapped-pipe (well, with some stuffing, it becomes a "lossy tapped pipe).
My first "tapped" anything build was a tapped-pipe, though I opted for a different fold - see The Subwoofer DIY Page v1.1 - Projects : A "Proof of Concept" tapped pipe** - introduction
Fb may come in slightly higher than predicted, as it looks like bjorno assumed right angled paths around each bend. My measurements suggest that the "advanced centerline" method is a bit more accurate for estimating path lengths around bends.

Hi Parm,
Sorry for being very late,I simply forgot.
I made another Sim by using the suggested Infinity-Ref 1240W Driver.
If You have problem with interpretation of my simplified Pictures:
Place a few questions at most and I'll try answering.

Ok thanks, I'm sticking with the JBL as that's the sub I have. I'm not sure ive mounted the drive unit correctly as I'm not sure I nderstand your diagram fully. I've cut wood etc etc to make a prototype box and in the picture attached ive mounted the sub in the top right corner. Is this correct ?

Hi Parm,
A quick retouch:

Many thanks for your clarification
Ahhh, now I understand !!. My dimensions are correct but ive mounted the speaker in correctly on the front and not like you've shown. Ok this is a simple ammendment to do.
What diamter should the cut out be at the front ?
Thanks folks, this was much more comp,I cater than I had imagined, I suppose I was hung up on the normal TL designs where the driver is visible.
I'm away with work for then next two weeks so will give it a go with the suggested modifications and see how I get on.
If it sounds good, which I'm sure it will I'm gonna re engineer the whole box with one inch (25mm) MDF and properly rebated joints.
Wish me luck folks !!
