And we are not talking about attenuation either.
But I will take a stab at an analogy.
Then what happens if I use a proper dither with a 50% duty cycle on/off?
On/off within one sample period will violate Nyquist for any discussion that involves valid concepts between frequency and time domain analysis.

On/off at a slow rate and many FFT averages.
Don't come to the Newport hi fi show, Derfnofred, with that attitude! We actually think that we can hear small differences in audio quality. '-)
The noise in my amp seems to be coming from something after the LTP. Unless the BC560C gets extremely noisy at Vcb=0V, I have not been considering the current mirror a possible source. Something is generating about 20uA of noise and sending it through the LTP.
That must be why audioquest have to explain in excruciating what you will hear when they put their more expensive cables in a system!
The heck with audioquest. I am going to Meridian and try to hear the difference between ordinary CD and MQA with really good playback equipment, like I try to use in my own hi fi. We shall determine this tomorrow.
will be interesting to see how the anti-MQA backlash is going. Both Schitt and PSaudio have given it a resounding 2 thumbs up. Seems Bob has changed tack recently and wants to bake MQA into the hardware and effectively take over final voicing of any product. Not suprisingly this gets a dim view from many.
Personally I see it as a streaming technology, and therefore of no interest. Outside of streaming I can't see labels liking it as you lose the ability to charge 50% more for the HD version.
I just picked up a Simon Rattle/BPO beethoven symphony set in 24/96 and 24/192 2 channel and surround. Will be interesting to compare.

No worries, I'm not the right clientele regardless. (Broke and incredulous) 😀
A 10,000 uF radial electrolytic capacitor may have 200 nH of inductance.
With 15mm or less lead spacing?
He was going for an example of where the PSU filtering starts becoming less effective and wanted that 1 kHz figure. So the math was convenient.
Well, if lytics like that do exist, I'd like to know... Although I can't imagine how you could fit a large enough current loop between the layers of foil without shorting out the inductance.

Oops meant axial. Actually a typical value! Or a lesson in why to use radials.

You're confusing me, I thought Schiit gave it the Schiits. They won't get schiit out of me.

D'oh, proof read failure. You are right 2 thumbs DOWN.
Well, I figured out most of my noise problem I think. The noise at 1KHz and 10KHz is close enough to the prediction that it must be fine. The excess noise (literally) is above 10KHz and I think it may come from the Mosfet cascodes.
I just wasn't thinking about bandwidth.

Right, I figure everyone is jealous of Apple's business plan of getting people to pay for things that used to be free.
After the recent amplifier review in SP I suspect Schiit's credibility is sinking like a stone. Maybe a kidney stone that was just passed? That can be a good thing.
My late father suffered from them sometimes, and when he saw one come out in his urine my late mother said it was the first time he had ever said, in all their years of marriage, "This must be my lucky day!"

Hmmmm. Our MiniDSP is being shipped to me.... because it has all the files to download for the Xover/EQ etc for the JBL M2 ! Saves a lot of money over JBL's amps/xover. How cool is that?

He said he made three mistakes. The three of us of his progeny were always amused by that.He never got lucky? How could that be?
