Smallest Size Woofer?

hi,

I was just going throught the forum and read a german proverb "egg producing sheep that gives milk and wool" i am looking for the smallest woofer to work in 200cc vol. So my bet would be to compromise efficiency for volume and frequency. How low can i get just as a rule of thumb for this vol( i am hoping 100Hz)?

@shank1207 - dude that is a tiny enclosure!!! 200cc = 0.2L 100Hz not even close. Your best bet is Dayton ND91-4 that will give you around 130Hz in sealed 0.5L = 500cc enclosure and you cannot make the enclosure any smaller as the driver will not fit. Any smaller driver than this and you are in the midrange territory with F3 of 200Hz There is a Fountek FR58EX that will fit your 200cc @ F3 200Hz. Not a bad driver - but no bass to speak of in that enclosure.
 
100Hz seems attainable with just over 1" - this one will just make 75dB at 100Hz and is displacement limited below ~70Hz at 1 watt input. This is a sealed box as I doubt you are going to be able to do a 0.2l vented box ;)

Thanks dude i understand the complication, I am working in a project to intgrate audio the dimension is really small 30mm*40mm*L where i have the freedom to varry the length just to tune the driver. I want to try and achieve 100 Hz, will try through diff enclosure maybe isobaric as the Vas is reduced to half

Tang Band W2-1767S with a help of a passive radiator might interest you.

Yeah passive radiator looks a good idea for a small vol , i saw a torn apart bose sound link mini, and they seem to use two full range driver with a passive radiator in a small volume. So i was giving a thought about full range driver but seems they dont go below 200
 
The -1767 gets to about 67Hz in a liter. I still plan on finishing this project too. The port will wrap around the baffle front to achieve the rounded edge treatment as well as the tilt for a nearfield desktop setup. Yes- these are measured T/S results...




I've not modeled the W2-1625 or -2040, but the 2040 has HUGE Xmax for a 2" driver.

This looks interesting the response for this size of speaker to go so low, after having a discussion yesterday we agreed to give the box around 0.72L-0.80L well thats a good news, but it is very unfortunate that the hieght of the baffle is 4cm so i need to find some oval shaped driver, because 2 inch woofer would be perfect but the size would be big for me
