Anyone built something with these?
W8-2145 - 8" Paper Full Range - TB SPEAKER CO., LTD.
I ordered a pair and just going to throw them in 24l boxes I have to start them.
But what to build then?
Do they work as OB?

Hi.
A quarter-wave type.
If building a reflex 24L@38Hz not enough space for ports. They are long and take the space inside. The enclosure has the barely minimum internal volume. Good exercice of gymnastics to stretch all that. Have fun.

Im not building any 24l reflex, I have one 24l closed box to try out the elements.
🙂
But an Quarter Wave if it works would be nice.
Using published specs, a quick MLTL sim in HR looks good at a ~36 Hz tuning:
L =144.26 cm
WxD = 1000 cm^2
driver offset = 49.64 cm
vent offset = 116.85 cm
vent = 7.62 cm dia. x 1.9 cm [baffle thickness]
All dims inside [i.d.]. Damp to 'taste'.

Thanks!
But not sure how the box drawing looks like?
Sorry for my bad math.
WxD = 1000 cm^2?
driver offset = 49.64 cm, is that from top to center of cone?
vent offset = 116.85 cm?

Hi Solve,
I guess they work as open baffle. Mostlikely I will drive to Frankfurt to listen to them. I need a new project 😉

Yes, sounds good, only to maybe 70Hz.Im impressed of
the sound, a bit harsh, maybe moore playin needed.

You're welcome!
Just now saw this........it is a high aspect ratio [tower/column] cab 144.26 cm in height with [width x depth], so choose the baffle width, then divide it into 1000 to get the depth.
Correct for both the driver and vent.

If I understand this right.
144,26 cm lenght innerspace.
And W=32cm
And D=32cm
Also innerspace?
I´m near something?
🙂

GM did say "All dims inside [i.d.]. "
Rather than
W=32cm
D=32cm
I'd suggest:
W=35cm
D=29cm
-It is best not to make dimensions equal to each other, or simple multiples (e.g. 22*44).
-I prefer wide boxes

But I prefer narrower box.
🙂
So maybe?
W:29cm
D:35
Right, ideally we want a golden or acoustic ratio to average out its eigenmodes to minimize damping, maximize cab acoustic efficiency; ditto offsetting the driver, etc., when the baffle is wide enough, i.e. make speakers mirror image.

Ok, I still have runned a FAST combo with TPA3118D2 and a sub crossed at 80hz.
Three TPA3118D2 with an MiniDSP 2x4 HD.
Sounded very good but nots so very happy with the highs.
Then i bought one Fx-802D2.
Ok, its not my speakers that sound wrong!
You know the feeling when the speakers just disapeare...

Just an update.
I still use this as nearfield listening with my 24 l closed box and feel not to build anything!
So this speaker fits very good in closed box.
Tight bas with a little bump up in the bottom with eq.
Proberly not purist right but sounds very good down to 40hz.

Not best idea put 2145 to 24l sealed box.Just an update.

1st reason: small sealed enclosure always sound dull.
2nd:Fs raises to 73hz if it clear volume.
3rd: 40hz just from -12db
In 65 liters with port about 7cm it look much better, fs 36hz and it reproduce 35hz with -3db
