yup , ungrateful and notworthy ZM got few preputium made unobtaniums...
had SIT 1 in mock-up form few months in my workshop
having Babelfish SIT 2 pcbs on shelf , still not having time for proper execution

I thought you and Mike both had some of those precious SIT's. I look forward to your impressions at a later date and how the sound compares to one of your SET amplifiers.
Tubes,-)
Great.-)
Some ideas:
The tuning of sound, components, is a tuning of Material, too: wood - iron - glass ... one reason for coherence of big wooden-rumble-speakers (most horns ...) and tubes (iron, glass).
The build of lot tubeamps is "freewired" - a big advantage vs. pcb. My mind (For twenty years, near, I do not use pcbs,-).
The build of tubes - the same problem as caps - mistaken of electric circuit: "x-circuits" result in an "open" "stage". The bigger (the tubes) the "better" - seems. But not as correct as a little tube, or many of them. The distortions TH are a problem seldom - the ear does listen other distortions: results of much circuits, materials, big diameters, devices (most transistor-amps are tombs for components and much,-! soldings.-) The result of "tube-sound" (clear, fluid ...) is, in my mind, a result of build of, too.

Not to speak for Nelson but I believe he has said SS is his thing. There is no telling what kind of tube circuit he can and would have designed if this were not so.
"SS" in the past not "verbalized", therefore not "realized"-?
The "ZEN-SS"(?) sounds superb. The SS-design in the big commerz-amps is tooooooo complex to sound (as,-?) good. "A lead balloon"-?
In MY mind,-!

It's not like I don't have any.

Maybe one day you would share a favorite schematic of yours. I would love to see a tube circuit you have designed.
ya all nutz ?
all what Greedy Boyz need more , is recipe how to open triode and weld some additional (positive feedback ) resistor in it**
**as Papa is always doing everything backwards

As a protest, I intend to burn my jammies.
(if I had any)
