Technics SB2000 - Source of smallish horns today?

Hi everyone.

I'm thinking of making smallish horns. The more I think about the look of the Technics late 1970's horns the more I like them. In some ways they remind me of the modern megabucks speakers from JBL.

I'm wondering if anyone has a source of similar mini-horns? Whenever I go looking it seems all I can find are relative giants.

Those flat radial designs would be fairly easy to reproduce if you own a router and a belt sander. However, the narrow vertical dimension really limits the vertical pattern control, the larger one would be far wider vertical dispersion than the 12" at the 1500 Hz crossover frequency.
Classic examples of "pattern flip", those horns have fallen out of favor other than in some esoteric designs still more concerned with looks than performance.

I gave up my wood shop for the privilege of outrageous rents. I'm curious, do you have a recommendation for pretty and small wooden horns I could mate to a 10"-12" mid-woofer?

"Pretty" and "small" are both relative terms, but the Fostex H400 looks pretty small relative to larger horns

I've seen wooden bowls that would make beautiful radial horns, you could make a pair of 90 degree horns from one bowl and some matching hardwood panels with hand tools in a few hours.

Allow another few hours for finish work, and another hour for vacuuming up...

My math was wrong in the previous post, you can make a pair of 60 degree horns from a single bowl, for wider dispersion you need to figure one bowl each.

Act now, you could get a pair of 16" bowls for $157, and still have $243 to buy some nice exotic contrasting wood for the top and side panels...ummm, ebony...

10" bowls are going for $50 or less..
