DF96, we seem to be talking at cross purposes. I know all these things you are saying so far. It seems you may have taken a cue from my misspeaking and have taken the very worst interpretation of everything I've said. I'm no expert but I have read both Morgan Jones books and know about tight twisting positive and negative wires and getting them directly to the first input capacitor terminals and bypassing ground up to that point. Maybe you could at this point just accept that instead of assuming I'm completely stupid based on a misspeaking.

I started by checking whether you realised that it is wrong to directly ground the CT - I made no assumptions about what your reply might be. Your reply seemed to indicate that you did not know what now you say you do know. I have only your words to go on. You used the word "stupid"; I did not and would not.

I'm not sure what you mean by "bypassing ground" up to the first cap terminals. You certainly should not connect ground to the first cap terminals, but to the second (or final) cap terminals. Now, have I again "taken the very worst interpretation" of what you appear to have said?
