I'm pretty sure anyone who owns a junk yard that size is worth a mil or two. and its wellknown the cops and tow operators have a cozy relationship, this one went south.... way south.

I enjoyed "The Ruling Class" not much else. I was obsessed with LoA as a 12yr. old. I even tried to read 7 Pillars of Wisdom.

Agree re O'Toole in LoA. A friend's father employed him on Southampton Water as a boat test driver on what became MTBs and MBGs. ( That guy also heavily involved with the Supermarine plane speed record).
One of my friends was a scrap dealer, in order to pull up drill pipe for the mini-mill ovens in Indiana and S. Carolina they had to purchase the mineral rights on the properties. That was when oil was $3/bbl, before the "oil embargo". You know the rest of the story.
'The Beard' by animator Ian Emes on YouTube. Met him a few years ago. Clever and engaging man. Did animations for Pink Floyd.

The original, 'The Beard' by Ian Emes is around 9 minutes long. He showed us some original artwork for the animation and it was probably less than A4 in size and done mostly in pen. Remarkable.
I am watching "The Sopranos" these days. I began watching it back when it came out but i did not have the ambition to watch all the seasons from the start to the end back then. And i always regretted that i did not finish it.
It's an incredibly good show and i think all men have a little Tony Soprano in them.

I watched 'The Martian' last night; a guy stranded on a scrap yard of planet Mars. ...Left for dead but alive eating potatoes. ...The Bourne guy...the CIA spy.
He was finally freed @ the end, and the spaceship he was driving in had a tarp on top!
Of course it flew away by the sheer speed, and our Martian was fully exposed to the elements...hatch wide open to the vast space of the multiverse.
That was in 3D (Blu-ray), and it rocketed like a propulsion stratospheric quantum lapse of a warp drive. Only time differential was @ play on a spatial zone. The first impression was the right one...he made it alive and he escaped too.
Everything was a lie, a total inconsistency, nothing appeared real as in science fiction life, so it was included in the comedy department, and it didn't make the grade that was supposed to coexist with our our comprehension.
All in all it was technically impressive and surreal. I have no clue if anyone else would have been able to make it alive and return like he did, but that he did...only in the movies. ...From Hollywood boulevard and directed by the grand master of sci-fi...Sir Ridley Scott; Blade Runner, Alien, Exodus: Gods and Kings, Prometheus, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Body of Lies, The Counselor, Robin Hood, American Gangster, Kingdom of Heaven, Legend, Thelma and Louise, A Good Year, The Duellists, Hannibal, Matchstick Men, Black Rain, G.I. Jane, Someone to Watch Over Me, White Squall, 1492: Conquest of Paradise, 1984, Alien: Covenant (2017).
It's a film, based on not real events...from a book. The first impression is the real one; impressively inaccurate. ...But fun nonetheless...with desolated moments...implausible situations...some space/action sequences...no trees, no oceans, no forests...a vast land of red desert sand and rocks. Why man wants to send men there...beats me man! I\d rather make this world (planet Earth) a better place first...the garden of Eden...and an eternal resource of abundance in food, fish, steak, and cereals with milk.
Plus making pills for growth (hormones). ...And...immortality.
But that, for another movie in time and in space...
My own overall rating (film itself and technical accompaniments/accomplisments...3D imaginary effects and sound turbulence with melodrama music score): 2.75 (out of 4).
Last word: Recommended experience. ...That was also my first impression...so it all makes good sense.

"Fringe" season 2. Very good, much liked except the heroine Olivia Dunham. Her smiling face is for romantic comedy, not for FBI agent.
I loved a lot the potatoes part of the film like the red landscapes ! I would like to know what Sergio Leone would have made with such special effects with Mars !
