To me, Bug Head is the very best sounding music player by far.
HQPlayer is the second best, at a huge distance, and JRiver, F2k at a very very long distance.
Could you please decribe your playback system from the PC to the dac chip ?
No one will believe you but me.......😀
Greets:
Tyimo
Don't care. 😀
First time I tried BH I was simply shocked. I don't ever believe that i was heard.
Have you enabled "High Class Professional" level in BH?

Windows 10 (no antivirus, no needed software, no virtual memory disk, no indexing, etc.)
32 GB RAM (as Mr. Yokota advices)
Intel i7 3.6 GHz
4GB ATI video card (as Yokota advices)
Paul Pang USB v2
DIYINHK Xmos
PCM1704-nos dac
Bug Head 6.5 Infinity Blade.
Rewrite data (Administrator mode) previous to play BH, rewrite driver Xmos and BH program files (MMX mode, same than last put in BH)
All Cores Any Cures previous to play BH 2 times....
By me totaly the same!😀First time I tried BH I was simply shocked. I don't ever believe that i was heard.
I didn't enabled "High Class Professional" level in BH yet. I listen it the as it come out from the "box"......

You won't be able to get "High Class Profesional" level if you don't have installed a minimum of 16GB or RAM (double sided modules).
Thank you for the description ! If I remember the DIYhink has an isolator chip at its output by default...
I have only 8 GB Ram & an I5 on my Laptop but have a reclocker and a I2S buffer with noise isolation (IanCanada devices) in the DAC ! I have to try BHE to test if any difference with a lambda Linux player (I use a Synology NAS (Archlinux iirc) in the main system !
Argh too much projects !
Is there a non ressampling option in BHE (playback the file with their original bit depth and sampling rate) ? I can also upsampling with JukeBox but 192 K Hz max !
For the moment I can just test a 16 bits DAC (but a 20 bits is in the shelf waiting to be finished to use with the same IanCanada Front end).

The most impact in sound quality with BH comes with RAM, a minimum of 16GB is needed. Upgrade in sound quality is clear. From 16 to 32 GB i don't know, I don't sure what was the changes in sound quality.
I always plays BH-IB without upsampling. I don't like the sound of BH with upsampling.
Diyinhk pcm1704-r2r has isolator, but Xmos DXIO i believe don't has.
Thanks Luis for sharing your experience.
I have also a PC unit with I5 and W7 (64) but unluckilly have to buy RAM !
For me the ultimate change was a reclocking and a FIFO with a good phase noise Crystal (CHHD-957 Crystek), but I have to play with that. In theory I can't listen to difference with two softs but some did with the same front end as I have ! And I want to check it by myself !
Humm not a soon experiment as I have to finish some open tests already and a speaker projects !

So windows defender thinks it's got trojan.
Turned off the defender, reinstalled. Won't run. Anyone got the same ?
I have only 8 GB ram, maybe this is preventing it to run. Otherwise computer meets its recommended specs.

since version 7.28 and beyond i'm not able to run over win10x64.
You will need a lower version.

Versions above 7.27 only runs if your processor is able to run AVX 2.0 instructions, sixth gen Intel are capable.
Download the last version. If not work, copy these four files instead original ones.

I've just to upload version 7.27 to GDrive.
Please try with this files.
Which complete version have you installed?

Oh hey it worked. Copied the newer exe-s in place and it did the trick.
Been listening for couple of hours and comparing with Foobar2000.
There is a difference and from memory it indeed sounds like Daphile.
I have always thought Foobar sounds 'raw' or 'grainy' as opposed to Daphile which is smoother and more focused.
Same seems to apply to the Bughead. Sound images are better defined and more whole, sound is more smooth, more liquid. Not easy to a-b correctly though. The Bughead won't let you seek during a track and it does it's magic for 7 sec berfore each track play.
These are preliminary impressions, I will report back if I'm actually sure in all of this.

My rig: HD800 (modded) + EC2A3 (runnin' Sylvania NOS) + Soekris Dam 1021 (tricked out).

What do the 4 exe files do. Bughead is a player. InfinityBlade is .. also a player. Then there are the AllCoresAllCures and RewriteData. Do the player's call them out when needed, or should it be done manually for some extra gains?
AllCoresAnyCures (ACAC) must be launched before run InfinityBlade.
You must open TaskManager and see if ACAC is running. If not, you must launch it two times:
1) Start and close.
2) Start and push "run every 15 minutes"
You can start RewriteData before run InfinityBlade, and rewrite your USB drivers, and Program files of BH.
InfinityBlade is the higher class than BugHead.exe
I recommend you run InfinityBlade.
When you run InfinityBlade, you can pick in the emerging window and enter in the configuration setup. Pich on the green button of your USB driver.
Configure your DIMM memory for "High Class Professional Level" (If you have 16GB and double sided DIMM modules)
If you get "High class professional level" you get the best sound.

Hello
Im running Infinity blade with 50 percent sound degradation so my question is it because of settings or because of hadware(4gb RAM -i3) ?
