I got the Lego Mindstorms EV3 Robotics kit for my grand niece - unfortunately I think I'm supposed to leave with her when I fly home
Haha.
Best gift was that all of us from my immediate family were together for Christmas.
My German hand-tool pickup. The Master Technician ESD Precision Set from Wiha (#75965). Comes in a nice metal latching case. The small ratchet is 72-tooth and opens easily. I will have a full review on these coming up.

Second best is my "The Art of Electronics, 3rd Edition".
Third is my "Practical Electronics For Inventors"
Between these I am set for a while on electronics circuits learning.

A pair of Carradice Kendal panniers for my grocery-getter bicycle:
(Stock photo, mine will go on a low-rider mount on the fork).
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Those look pretty sweet. I've not seen German ratchet tools here for sale but would not hesitate getting some if cost was competitive with the major north american makes.

You should see the price level of Snap-On tools on this side

Totally Off the scale at the high dollar exchange rate of pre Desert Storm years.
(though for metric size, Belzer, Gedore, Stahlwille, and even Hazet are a more obvious choice)
Christmas
I like all kinds of teck stuff... so its pretty hard for someone to get me something that I will really use... so this year...after I took my wife to Asia
for a month.. (saved for a long time for this trip)...I had just enough left over to get me what I had been wanting for many years...SO I ordered everything to build me a set of Altec 19 speakers from Great Plains audio...
I dont think santa had room in his bag.. or maybe I had been bad...

Back to the past future ?
Day's of Future Past, according to the Moody Blues. 😀

Day's of Future Past = X-men movie
Day's of Future Passed = Moody Blues album
Not that it really matters, but I am a Moodies fanatic.

Many years ago "Auntie B" went to sleep for most of a Moody Blues gig in Wembley Arena ( about 8 rows from the stage)!!! Yet, if I as much as close a book without due care she wakes up!!! After all these years I still cannot work it out.

Correct if you drop the apostrophes.

That's what I get for being lazy and cutting and pasting.

I have seen the Moodies at least a dozen times, probably more like 20. Every time they came near south Florida, I went. Twice when Mike Pinder played the Mellotron. I quit going when Ray Thomas left.

Yeah, you're right, sometimes my old brain mis-remembers stuff. I've been hooked since the Threshold Of A Dream album came out, I love the way In The Beginning sets the mood and then blasts into Lovely to See You. After all these years it's still one of my favorite albums.

One of those bands that should have OD'd in the '60s, to be eternally famous.
I've been brain flushed (with/without doping) with Nights in White Satin so many times, that I only have to think of the chords to show signs of auto-inhaling.

The first time I saw them was a charity gig in Wembley; they had as a "mystery guest" appearance Brian Wilson; his first gig after his long absence from performance........
[Without checking, I believe that Scotland's one and only Lonnie Donnegan recorded "John B" long before the BBs! OK, checked as being 1960, BB 1966, Blind Blake much earlier.]
Socks, yes socks! My wife gave me (2) pairs of Darn Wool hikers. These are basically socks for life.
I tear through wool socks from hiking and skiing so we'll see if they live up to their guarantee -

For Santa, the gift is what you putt Inside ! Wife is very romantic !
For me, the worst was maybe children when I found a roasted Santa with a broken leg at the wake up ! The best was the next year when I saw exactly the same ringing at the door ! I seriouqly understood than immortality was not a myth !
