A year passed since last time, but I wasn't in any hurry.
Just in case ordered two sets of dom's, the Dayton ND16FA-6 (0.625") and the Dayton ND20FA-6 (0.75"). The ND16FA-6 is just to drop in, the ND20FA-6 have to be cut around to fit.
I ended up using the ND20FA-6 and cut it around with a side cutter, it's easy.
Once fitted in the horn I measured the resonance frequency to 1380Hz.

That's funny! You've horn loaded the little Dayton neo tweeter. And with an Altec horn, no less. Pretty cool.
I am all for smiles, especially on the top, could change the world.
Just to be complete, is there a third driver candidate, the Vifa OX20SC00-4.
Only 4 Ohm, but the shape is closer to the original WE saltshaker module.
The diaphragm is sticking out of the top surface as the original, almost the same dimensions of the voice coil (ID: 18.85mm vs the Vifa 19.2mm), this means the dome would fill the curved (donut) shaped portion of the cavity closer, like the original does it.
To achieve the same with the Dayton one would need a lathe to turn down the rest of the waveguide flat.

Great work miklos!
How does it sound compared to the original diaphragm?

Thanks, late reply.
Never listened to it, sold the tweeters on ebay for a good sum.🙂
