Yes they are TRUE !
More than shocking, Disgraceful. Why anyone would "update" to W10, or buy a new comp with it on, after knowing how it spies on you etc, is a mystery to me ?
Actually I do not doubt such accusations, but I favour multi-source confirmation...
Besides, who guaranties that M$ does not pollute older OS'es with similar spy-ware via it's updates? That ought to be investigated too...
Besides, these surveilance practices are rather criminal in my opinion...
Katherine Albrecht: Windows 10 Is Full Blown Electronic Tyranny
The irony of hosting that video on a Google site is:

Update to above: At 16:26 in that interview Katherine Albrecht expresses the opinion that Microsoft's data farming is 'satanically motivated'. Skip the grain of salt, you might consider taking anything the crazy redhead says with a full lick.

Those quotes & links are just a few of Many reliable etc sources. Do online searches & you will soon find Lots !
Other OS's are indeed affected in a similar way as well, see my other thread

I discovered a long time ago that it was Much better not to allow MS OS's to auto update themself, due to earlier suspicions & reports etc. When i reinstalled XP on a new PC i built a number of years ago, i left it as SP2 & have NEVER updated it ! Due to numerous facts i've found out since then, has made me Very glad i didn't. Thankfully i have disabled all sorts of the usual default running services etc, & other stuff, that are Not actually required to use the PC. Plus i have a number of excellent free & paid security & privacy programs which monitor & intercept/alert/protect etc me from anything dodgy etc happening 🙂

So what ! Just concentrate on the Actual issue, & do searches for other reports & Facts.

Dunno .. I procrastinated on moving from My XP pro for years even thru those annoying nags'
Finally had to cuz Pore ole WinXP had become Glacially Slooow on Bootup and Shutdown.
No amount of Fixin worked and a Drive wipe and install was as much if Not more work than a
Fresh Drive and a cleasn install. So Win 8.1 being offred at a discount price .. I got it.
That was one serious Sea Change from XP.
A laughably Goofy Primary School like interface IMO.
Got the 10 upgrade a week later.
A Seamlessly exceuted upgrade actually.
Now boot up/ shut down is ~5 secs each way.. V nice.
Yes there are 'security' issues... No News there.
Been hearing that refrain for Years.
SOOO? What Do YOU have to Hide?
Unlikely our lives are interesting enough to be worth examining.
IF Naive enough to place financial info on your Machine 😱
Welll then; Best start making/wearing those Tin Foil hats.
Curiously going back into my Old XP C drive (via Win 10)
I find files And programs in there that I had 'removed' .. Carefully and methodically, or so I thought 😱...years ago Intact and Clogging the works.
More than a bit surprised by that realisation.

No tinfoil hat required, it's true ! If some people don't care, that's their problem 😛
All versions of Windows stores ALL sorts of data/logs/info etc etc, about what you do. Unless you know how to Completely erase them for good, from ALL the different areas in your comp, there they stay, Forever !
Each new version of W is much worse than previous ones for logging etc !

Of course, the point is that effort is better expended on sources that don't base their technical analysis on Satan. It's the internet, go to GRC Research, The Guardian Project, even 4Chan/g before data mining the bottom layer.
Google has been collecting data on it's users for years. Enable your "Google Dashboard" and have a look at it. It lists every Google search that I have ever made. Somehow it figured out that it was me doing all those component searches from a corporate owned computer inside the Motorola firewall. Google probably figured this out through Youtube use.
Let's see most of my searches are for components, modern wireless and telecom stuff while at work, and tubes, transformers and associated stuff at home. Next up are searches for 60's and 70's rock bands, members, records and concerts.
Then there are the searches that you didn't realize that you were even doing, like every time you push the map button on your Android phone.....yes they know about those too.
I couldn't find the trip from Ft. Lauderdale to Seattle in a 747 where I held the Google Nexus tablet up to the window and tracked our trip on map through the GPS. The tablet doesn't have a cellular connection and WiFi doesn't work too well at 35000 feet.
NSA, Are you interested????? Yeah pretty boring stuff. I don't keep personal stuff on my PC, don't even have a Facebook account, but I ALWAYS assume that someone somewhere IS watching everything I do on the web, because they certainly CAN.
I worked in the cell phone group at Mot during the years that Nextel was active. I know first hand what can be seen by the cellular operators if they want to, and this was several years ago. A system operator can turn on your mic and or camera or GPS at will.

Windows 10 automatically sends parents detailed dossier of their children's internet history and computer use
The feature appears to be turned on by default for family accounts — not notifying either children or their parents that they are being spied on — and was reported by parents who hadn’t asked for and weren’t aware of activating the feature themselves.

Well facts are facts ! She is entitled to think it's satanic, it doesn't bother me, or affect the facts about how bad W10 is. Actually, it's quite a good description for it 😀
@ tubelab.com
My advice has been & is, not to ever have a Google/Facebook/Twitter etc etc account, or a smartphone 😉 Don't store Anything in "The Cloud" If you really must, encrypt it Strongly BEFORE you upload it.
Plenty of other things people can do too !
They can catch all the stuff outgoing. Why can't they catch all the spam incoming?😕
Because that's the ISP's job OR your job for not giving your email address out all over for everything 🙂
BTW if you have a Decent firewall, spam and other NASTIES won't get through. I have yet to have a virus in 8 years & i don't run any av software either.
Here's an issue with W10 I just ran into: it sports a new version of Remote Desktop called (duh) Windows Remote Desktop. BUT it will only connect to other machines running Professional or Enterprise versions of W10...
And only if you have a valid MSN, Outlook or other Microsoft account.
So I'm screwed, the PC I want to access remotely runs W7...

TridiaVNC which is what I used to use is now gone, but perhaps one of the many other VNC applications would work for you..
There is an open source version of REALVNC here for many platforms: https://www.realvnc.com/download/open/
No idea whether it is good or not.

Not true, it will connect to everything back as far as Windows XP. Probably does Windows 2k too but i dont have any 2k machines to test with.
I run remote desktop (RDP) from Win 10 Pro to Win XP Pro, Vista Pro and Win 7 Pro PC's. No problems, working just as before with Win 7/8. No MS account required.
Only Windows Pro versions can host RDP sessions. Home versions can connect to RDP host (Pro).

Bingo 🙂 it's the same with windows 7 home Prem or windows xp home you can rdp from them to a machine but you cant RDP to them from a machine.

Dooh, I typed in error ...
Only Pro versions and up
