I think that the Oppo 105 is well engineered and that the full potential of the parts being used is being realized. Earlier in this thread I pointed to some independent measurements which confirm this.
Lacking engineering wherewithal and adequate measuring capabilities, you cannot realize any improvements whatsoever.
So based on your theory here, my $200 EMU1212M sound card should sound
the same as the Oppo for digital playback as it measures almost the same,
in fact better in some ways.

Because you hinted at that earlier, let me make very clear that I have no connection to Oppo. I even don't know what country they are located. But their product speaks for itself.
Stereo image is a red herring.
Stereo is a red herring? Stunning - drop in sometimes.
Re the potential of Oppos, since I readily admit I actually make a large portion of my income from improving them, then are you saying my very satisfied clients are all dumb and I am a snake oil salesman?
Thanks for the best chuckle I have had all day. 😀😀😀:
Now please, let's have a little less aggro on a thread that has been coming along very peacefully. The Oppo is amazing for the price and I have recommended to many that if it in their budget, then just buy it as you won't do better and forget everything else. But I can tell you truthfully, the Oppo can be transformed to the degree that "it is hard to believe this is the same player I sent you" as one customer said recently.
Now you may choose not to believe that, and that is your prerogative, but it's kind of dangerous to pontificate on something you haven't even heard and be terribly mistaken - which you are.
Fair enuff?
Cheers, Joe
PS: Oppos representatives here in Australia and New Zealand have been just great and recognised what is being done - maybe that suprises you? One has even paid me to do two. Hi Tony 🙂

Hello.
Could anyone tell why do we have different values in i/v here?
Thay are the same for the multichannel.

Good catch Staudio ... Its not supposed to be so. Maybe its a typo or intentional mistake to frustrate for those who might want to copy their design🙂...but if its not, the OCD in me is starting to kick in eyeing my 105 as suspect...
Would you have a copy of their whole stereo and audio boards? Please send me a copy via PM. Thanks🙂!

Does anyone put caps between IOUTRP and IOUTRN (IOUTLP and IOUTLN)?
I believe JR above your post does something similar to that...

You mean schematics? I don't think that anyone here has it, except, probably, John Curl.
Coris, you said in an earlier post that you did not understand why these two resistors had different values.
Subsequently, I explained to you and others why this set up makes perfect sense and should not be changed
Therefore, what I wrote is not an opinion, but a factual statement, based on understanding how these circuits work. When you subsequently try to ridicule this explanation, perhaps because it flies over your head, well, that triggers a desire for action in me.
By your not-understanding this simple design feature, you demonstrate a fundamental lack of understanding. This while you try to present yourself as an authority in the field. Quod non. You are trying to sell ill thought out stuff to the gullible.
This is made obvious because of what follows in your response. It is just a sales pitch for the wares you peddle, lacking any verifyable fact. Mere humbug about sound stage and what have you.
I want to warn the readers on this site against people like you. You have a financial interest. Therefore, I think your utterings should be moved to the vendors forum. That way, it will be obvious to all that you are trying to make a buck. Nothing wrong with that per se, but it has at least to be clear that you are doing so. I therefore call on the moderating team to move this thread to the vendors forum.
I think this is a disgusting slur. Coris has been nothing but polite and revealing in all his posts on this forum. Sure you may have some disagreements, but you go way too far by trying to belittle him as a 'ware peddler'.
I have Coris LPM, and it performs far better than the stock SMPS found in the Oppo. And it was me that has recommended people check it out, Coris himself has certainly not done any spruiking.
You claim he has produced 'ill thought out stuff for the gullible'. Apart from my own personal experience that this is not the case, what is your evidence for making this statement?
You just point to some measurements, declare they are perfect, then claim the Oppo cannot be improved. That's it !! And yet you then castigate Coris for making claims that lack 'an verifiable fact'. Well...
This thread has also been going since 2012, started by Coris in fact. But you would have all the information and posts moved to a vendors forum simply because Coris (only very recently) and Joe Rasmussen sell some Oppo upgrade products.
Don't you think this is an absurd and ridiculous overreaction, that shows you are being very biased in your view of things? It seems like you are more interested in being a censor, and want other view hidden away, rather than any real concern for people reading this forum.
Re the potential of Oppos, since I readily admit I actually make a large portion of my income from improving them, then are you saying my very satisfied clients are all dumb and I am a snake oil salesman?
Then possibly you might restrict your comments to the commercial forums. Very intelligent folks are also prone to expectation bias, etc.

Have you said the same thing to John Curl, Nelson Pass e.t.c?
So where did you get your copy? And JC has them because he designed the 105 audio?

Thank you Staudio 🙂. The design interface seems to be rather standard fare, no?

Think so.

Not for me to decide by myself, but you are right the masses speak with a loud voice.

Alas, even the Proletariat has a right to a voice. 😀
