The diyAudio Firstwatt F6

I really don't like BOM, they get old and stale as parts availability changes.

This amp has a very small amount of parts, working from the schematic is easy.

That said, the completed build guide will have a BOM.

The F6 boards are ready for preorder. I started building point to point but now that I have ordered the boards I am going to be patient and wait. My understanding is that there will be few to start with and I did not think I would be lucky enough to get them. If you are interested you better act now.

Ordered a set, but somehow get the feeling I won't get them. 😉
I bet a couple hundred DIYers were already ahead of me. 😉

Someone please make a thread showing their DIYAudio F6 builds!

Hey, while I'm here. Is there any benefit to going full dual mono with this design?
Would two cap banks be good enough for good channel separation?

O.....

dual mono is always better , at least in my book

"just"two cap banks ..... somewhere in between

Anyone comment on the sound of the Linear JFETs vs Toshiba?

Pa sez they're good enough

if they're good for him ........

A limited quantity of the F6 PCB only are available for pre-order, and should be in the store this week.

No price determined yet, but should be quite reasonable. Ordering 2 transformers from Jensen would be at least $75 shipped, and the PCB are $25, so hopefully the price will be within sight of $100. But it's not up to me and I make no promises. 🙂

There will not be a package with the Jfets included. (There's just not the supply to do that for each amplifier.) They will be available separately. Mosfet kits with the ancillary transistors will be available for a number of amps.
