Hello, I inherited a compete set of Beveridge Model 2sw-1 speakers. They used to be my brothers. I remember them sounding great. Only problem is on of the amps is blowing the fuse after about 10 minutes. I don't use them anymore because of that. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what may be the problem.
I don't know the circuit well enough, but output tube(s) could be bad or problem with biasing output tubes. Could be many tings - I think you should just sell the speakers to me (just joking).
If you can get in touch with a tech that know his way around tubes, it may be a simple fix.

Heard these back in their day and was totally impressed in how they created a stage.

Actually, I have thought about selling them. I wasn't sure if there was enough interest in them to make that feasible. They are really cool, but I'm more of an old car guy.I don't know the circuit well enough, but output tube(s) could be bad or problem with biasing output tubes. I was able to get in contact with Rick Beveridge. He's thinking it's a transformer problem. I've looked inside the amps, pretty wild looking circuits. Replacing a transformer doesn't seem like it would be all that difficult.
You need to be careful in there with very high voltages over 2kv.
If my memory is correct, these have OTL amps (no output transformer), but do have a power transformer.
What is your location?

A couple thousand volts would only hurt for a minute or two, maybe three. I'm about 60 miles south of Columbus Ohio.

1A driving that voltage will do a little more damage than that...no?
The voltage is 3200Volt on my 2sw2.
I guess the amplifier is similar...
Be careful!
Pull the mainplug for at least 10 minutes before jumping around in the amp.. to be on the safe side.
Does this speaker have a build in subwoofer amp?
Its hard to tell whats wrong... if you pull out the tubes and then measure the current on the mains would give me a clue.
I have done much work and improvements on my pairs. New power supply, upgraded capacitors, main filter, signal input filtering, screened transformers, separate subwoofer amplifier, new active filter, new subs, LOT of work with bracing and cabinet stiffening in combination with viscoelastic elements that absorbs vibrations. i got the schematics for 2w2.
