I tryed without any special settings. Just as it is after the installation. I have to learn how to setting the program yet.
I use the Infinity Blade version on a HP620 Notebook with 4GB RAM and a small Core 2 Duo Intel Pentium 2.2GHZ CPU 32Bit. Even with this minimal hardver it is asthonising good sounding!
Much better than Foobar2000, Jriver, Pureplayer, and (so far my favorite) the Daphile.

OK. How/why is it better than the other players? You say it sounds better. Are you talking about volume control or DSP?
Just try it and you'll hear!😉
Most of it when you turn back to the other player you will hear that thay are "thin" sounding and missing something.
Not the volume control or DSP.

Well i tested it, listened through headphones and with Foobar, JRiver, PurePlayer and JPlay, I don't hear a difference.
I would like to know the details from the creator of the software..

Unless Bug Head is not a "bit perfect" music player, then it should sound like every other bit perfect music player.
There have been many objective tests (both ABX and measurements) that show all bit perfect players sound and measure the same:
Archimago's Musings: MEASUREMENTS: Part I: Bit-Perfect Audiophile Music Players (Windows).
Archimago's Musings: MEASUREMENTS: Part II: Bit-Perfect Audiophile Music Players - JPLAY (Windows).
Archimago's Musings: MEASUREMENTS: Bit-Perfect Audiophile Music Players (Mac OS X).
JRiver vs JPLAY Test Results - Blogs - Computer Audiophile
Computer Audiophile - JRiver Mac vs JRiver Windows Sound Quality Comparison
So unless you or the author of Bug head can point to any objective evidence to prove otherwise... Enjoy the music!

I've read this whole thread on CA. Another meeting of people being in two camps.
PeterSt. from XXPlayer and Miska from Signalyst have the opinion, the test is flawed, the results thus worthless. They also say they can measure differences. Others say how great mitchcos results are. The rest then goes as usual.
So, linking this test as a reference over and over may not learn anybody new things. We are right back where we always were. If you like toying with some really weird piece of software, BHE might be the one thing you've missed. No matter how the player does (not) sound to you, it's a fun read on the internet anyway. Like mitchba said: Enjoy the music.

Did you benchmark with the same computer ? At the USB to I2S device output, do you use an isolator chip ?
BHE seems to need a lot of calcul power and some minimum architectures chips > 2011 ! IIRC I read you should have 8 Go RAM and a I3 Core minimum to allow it to play. Btw the choice made by the designer (jitter delay ?!?!) is maybe not compatible with a good FIFO !
Having a FIFO and an isolator chip after the USB to I2S device allow you just to use the distro you prefer (don't mess about it!) with the same results !
Am I right ?
Hi!
I tried with the same Notebook+DAC+Amp+Loudspeaker and cables and music.
I tried also with different DACs: iFi Audio Nano, DAC END (AD1865) and Musical Fidelity Digilog (AD1541A). My favorite is the Nano. The Nano doesn't need any USB to Spdif converter. For the another DAC I used CM6631A converter.
The difference between the players (software) is clearly audible! I'm not the only one who experiences it.
I'm sorry if somebody can not hear.....
I just wanted to help anyone else to experience this musical experience that this payer can give.
Most important: Enjoy the music!😀

USB input of the Nano is certainly not the worst of all the USB input DAC 🙂. While its RCA output are worst than the headphone output : if you can try it : make a 3.5 jack to RCA output with the same cable as you already have for your RCA wire: take a cheap Mogami e.g. to do a test !
Do we need to try BHE to download the second soft and upsamble the Library before ? To rephrase it ; does the test made with BHE is with already upsample material while the benchmark with Daphile or else is not ?
I downloaded the BHE, installed it and than tried the Infinity Blade version from the four versions you get. I didn't use the "Rewrite data " software. Just loaded the albums and I pressed the play button.....😀Do we need to try BHE to download the second soft and upsamble the Library before ?
No extra settings. Of course I installed the Asio4all program.
Why do not you try it yourself?

Thanks,
Ah ok the Infinity Blade variation, I would try both on my W8.1 - I5 /8Go ram laptop and also has been finding an old laptop not too old (7 years-Celeron + 2 Go Ram)) for AudioPhil Linux as well ! See here : http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/digital-line-level/273474-best-dac-no-dac-14.html#post4325656
I have a Wave I/O USB to I2S board with an isolated I2S output, so for a first try, it's enough with noisy laptops and their smps supply !
I lurked on Volumio for the graphic user Interface and also on the Soundchack advices about Cubitruck (2 Gb ram and sata interface) nano board with SOA with a Logitech Media Server (LMS) distro !
While I'm going to have a FIFO reclocker with good phase noise clock soon : which normaly makes all the distros/computers sound the same if bit perfects (which all are !) . ... at least if you have an isolator before the FIFO and the clock to isolate the noise from the computer device (laptop or nano computer or whatever) ! At least this is my understanding !

I have 2 laptops and both are deadly quiet, with out any noise even when they are on the charge and I play music on them. (I might just have the honor that they are noiseless 🙂)I have a Wave I/O USB to I2S board with an isolated I2S output, so for a first try, it's enough with noisy laptops and their smps supply !
Of course the pure battery operation could be better...
