I have a pair of 4x10's that I have never used. I should try to do the same thing.
NICE!!!!
Whatever happened with this build? I was considering a very similar design myself but with ND91-4 and RS150

well I bought a jbl charge... :-/
I can really recommend that Tang Band subwoofer. Build myself a similar portable box using it and two Visaton's FRS-8 and it sounds great. And pretty loud on 19V (2.1 TPA3116 amp).

99% of these 2.1 amps are garbage, anyone considering 2.1 should get proper 2.0 amp and a 1.0 subwoofer amp - more complicated but much better sound!!! Too bad we did not see this build completed - had an amazing start!!!
I'll be sure to tell TI their product is garbage at our next product meeting
Unless they're the 1%? 😱

@Zootalaws - I wasn't referring to TI chips - did I?...🙂 Most of these boards don't use genuine Texas Instruments either. What I am saying do not use the 2.1 boards as they are truly bad - instead use 2.0 boards in conjunction with 1.0 subwoofer board. Sure boards are pretty decent. Yuan-Jing used to be good - now some of their boards have lots of noise issues. Have a nice meeting with TI...🙂 I use their chips all the time and they are excellent!
No TI is responsible for 99% of chinese 2.1 3116amps being worse than they need to be. Don't kiss ***, kick ***! They should be ashamed, promising for 4 years to fix datasheet 2.1 error and failing to do so every time they update the datasheet. Even copying the mistake to new datasheets for Q1 versions, just to make certain the chinese **** those up too.I'll be sure to tell TI their product is garbage at our next product meeting

@irribeo - in either case the 2.1 amps are no go, the left and right speaker output is generally fine on these but the subwoofer output is unusable as it ads severe distortion.
You can actually hear the cone ringing!!!
